Indian Edtech Arivihan Secures $4.17 Million in Pre-Series A Funding to Expand AI-Powered Learning

TLDR: Indian edtech startup Arivihan has successfully raised $4.17 million (approximately R75 million) in a Pre-Series A funding round. The investment was co-led by Prosus Ventures and Accel, with participation from GSF Investors. Arivihan, known for its fully automated AI tutoring platform, plans to utilize the capital for nationwide expansion, enhancing its AI research and language support, and strengthening its marketing and distribution efforts. The company aims to democratize quality education across India, particularly in underserved regions, by offering scalable and cost-effective personalized learning.

Arivihan, an innovative Indian edtech startup, has announced the successful closure of its Pre-Series A funding round, securing $4.17 million (approximately R75 million). The round saw significant investment from global players Prosus Ventures and Accel, alongside participation from GSF Investors. This latest funding follows a previous seed investment of $750,000 from Accel Atoms.

Founded in 2024 by IIT Roorkee alumni Ritesh Singh Chandel and Sonu Kumar, along with seasoned Math educator Rushabh Kothari, Arivihan has developed India’s first fully automated AI tutoring platform. This platform delivers personalized coaching through interactive video lectures, instant doubt-solving, and AI-driven study plans, effectively eliminating the dependency on live teachers. This approach allows for 10x greater scalability and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional coaching models, making quality education accessible to a broader student population, especially in India’s underserved regions.

The fresh capital will be strategically deployed to fuel Arivihan’s ambitious expansion plans across new Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh. A significant portion of the funds will also be dedicated to deepening the company’s AI research, particularly in natural language processing for Indian languages, and bolstering its on-ground marketing and distribution infrastructure. The company aims to grow its academic team, onboard experienced NEET faculty, and hire across product, marketing, and engineering functions.

Arivihan currently caters to students preparing for State Board, CBSE, and NEET exams, with a primary focus on Class 12th learners from Tier 2+, Tier 3 cities, and rural areas. The platform has already demonstrated tangible academic success, with over 150 students scoring above 90% in their Class 12 Board exams, and four students securing positions in the Top 10 of state merit lists. The company also reports a 42% improvement in student performance within 30 days of joining the platform. Arivihan claims to have sold 15,000 subscriptions in FY25, generating revenue of approximately $390,000, and resolves roughly 700,000 student queries per month using AI with a 97% accuracy rate. With this new funding, Arivihan is targeting a subscriber base of 80,000 to 100,000 this year.

Dhruv Gupta, Investor at Prosus, commented on the investment, stating, “At Prosus, we’ve been actively exploring breakthrough applications of AI across sectors, and education remains one of the most compelling frontiers. Arivihan stood out as an AI-native learning platform purpose-built for India’s aspirational students, combining deep personalization with scalable impact. Their first-principles approach to product and distribution gives them a real shot at transforming how millions of students learn and succeed.” Ritesh Singh, Co-founder and CEO of Arivihan, added, “India has 250 million students, yet quality personalized education remains a privilege for few. Traditional coaching models simply cannot scale to serve Bharat’s massive student population at affordable price points. Our AI-first approach doesn’t just make education accessible, but it makes it truly personalized for every student, regardless of their location or economic background. This funding allows us to accelerate our mission of democratizing world-class education across Real Bharat.”
