Chunghwa Telecom Establishes InventAI to Spearhead AI Transformation in Finance and Beyond

TLDR: Chunghwa Telecom has officially launched InventAI, a new AI subsidiary with an initial capital of NT$120 million (approximately US$4 million), aiming to revolutionize the financial sector and customer service through artificial intelligence. InventAI, which spun off from Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories, has already secured over 15 corporate clients and projects NT$60 million in revenue by 2026. The company plans to expand its AI platform and application deployment, with aspirations for an IPO within five years.

Taipei, Taiwan – October 21, 2025 – Chunghwa Telecom (中華電信), Taiwan’s leading telecommunications provider, today announced the official launch of its new artificial intelligence (AI) subsidiary, InventAI (中華創智國際股份有限公司). This strategic move, with an initial capital of NT$120 million (approximately US$4 million), is set to drive significant AI-driven transformation within the financial sector and enhance customer service applications across various industries. Following employee equity conversion, InventAI’s capital is expected to increase to approximately NT$150 million (around US$5 million).

The establishment of InventAI is a cornerstone of Chunghwa Telecom’s broader ‘AI-driven future’ strategy, as articulated by Chairman Chien Chih-cheng (簡志誠). Chien emphasized the company’s commitment to spearheading AI innovation across Taiwan’s technology landscape, aiming to become both an ‘enabler’ and ‘co-creator’ within the nation’s burgeoning AI ecosystem. This involves enhancing AI-ready infrastructure, with a particular focus on NFC applications and smart security technologies. The company also revealed plans for at least two more internal R&D teams to spin off as independent subsidiaries by 2026, focusing on intelligent video surveillance (IVS) and additional near field communication (NFC) applications.

InventAI’s technical expertise originates from the Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories (CHTTL), described by its director and InventAI Chairman, Tian-Tsair Su, as the group’s ‘arsenal’ of technology. The new subsidiary is dedicated to AI platform development, model operations (MLOps), smart customer service, and AI Agent applications, all designed to help enterprises accelerate the transformation of data into actionable decisions.

InventAI General Manager Li Po-ching (李柏青) highlighted two flagship platforms already in operation: DeepFlow, which provides intelligent analytics capabilities, and DeepVoice, offering advanced customer sentiment analysis for voice recognition systems. These innovations are crucial for financial institutions to develop robust AI governance compliance platforms and sophisticated customer service solutions.

Since its formation, InventAI has rapidly gained traction, securing over 15 corporate clients. Chunghwa Telecom General Manager Lin Jung-ssu (林榮賜) confirmed that the subsidiary offers comprehensive, end-to-end solutions, from AI platform construction to practical application deployment, facilitating digital transformation across Taiwan’s corporate landscape. InventAI projects a revenue of NT$60 million (approximately US$2 million) by 2026, demonstrating strong market confidence.

The journey to becoming an independent entity involved over three years of rigorous incubation within Chunghwa Telecom. R&D teams seeking to spin off must undergo stringent technical validation, business feasibility assessments, and present a comprehensive operational plan demonstrating viability and a clear path to self-sustainability with stable cash flow. This ensures new ventures develop their own client base rather than solely relying on the parent company’s customers. Chairman Chien expressed ambitious aspirations for InventAI, targeting an initial public offering (IPO) within five years and planning active overseas expansion to bring Taiwan’s AI solutions to the international market.
