The deal, valued at an initial $80 million with additional performance-based earn-outs extending through 2029, significantly expands Wix’s portfolio in generative artificial intelligence and code-free software development.
Base44’s core technology empowers users to develop fully functional, custom software solutions and applications through natural language interactions, eliminating the need for traditional coding. This approach, termed ‘vibe coding,’ allows individuals to express their creative intent, while intelligent AI agents manage the underlying technical complexities, including databases, authentication, and deployment.
