Dubai is set to host the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This year, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will take centre stage, underscoring its pivotal role in driving digital transformation, improving service delivery, and advancing sustainability across various sectors.

Organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, WETEX 2025 is poised to be a global platform for innovation.

The exhibition will showcase how AI is redefining operational efficiency, automating administrative tasks, anticipating customer needs, and enabling data-driven decision-making to boost economic performance and elevate the quality of life. Numerous local and international companies are expected to present their latest AI solutions, applications, and best practices across critical sectors including energy, water, environment, transportation, and smart infrastructure.

Beyond product showcases, WETEX 2025 will feature extensive panel discussions focused on AI skill-building. These sessions are designed to empower youth, citizens, and employees with the necessary AI competencies, enabling them to design AI-based solutions and services that contribute to a robust digital economy and enhance their adaptability to future challenges. International experts will also provide insights into leveraging AI tools, discussing crucial aspects such as data verification methods, privacy protection for individuals and institutions, and striking a balance between governance and data-driven innovation.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, emphasized the exhibition’s strategic importance. “WETEX reinforces the UAE’s position as a global AI hub while enhancing Dubai’s competitiveness and leadership in shaping a dynamic digital economy. By attracting the latest technologies, start-ups, and global AI talent, the exhibition contributes to achieving the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to drive the growth of a smart and advanced digital economy based on knowledge, innovation, and future technologies,” he stated. Al Tayer further added that WETEX fosters collaboration and partnerships to deploy AI in vital sectors, transfer knowledge, and localize modern technologies, aligning with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.

Empower, the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has announced its strategic sponsorship of WETEX 2025. Ahmad Bin Shafar, Empower CEO, highlighted their commitment: “Our strategic support for WETEX reflects our strong commitment to supporting the UAE’s transition to a sustainable green economy.
