Bengaluru, India – July 9, 2025 – TP-Link India, a global leader in connectivity solutions and the market leader in Wi-Fi devices both worldwide and in India, today announced a major strategic expansion of its operations within the country. This expansion includes the unveiling of its first Incubation Centre in Mumbai and the upcoming launch of a state-of-the-art R&D Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru.
The newly established Incubation Centre, co-located with TP-Link’s new headquarters in Mumbai, was officially inaugurated by Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Maharashtra’s Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. This facility spans over 20,000 square feet and boasts a current seating capacity for over 150 individuals. It is designed to be a dynamic hub for innovation, offering hands-on demonstrations of enterprise solutions, facilitating partner training, and nurturing young talent. The centre will welcome students, developers, and technology enthusiasts from across India, providing them with essential tools, connectivity, and networking opportunities to support their endeavors. The Incubation Centre will specifically focus on cutting-edge technologies such as Wi-Fi 7, Internet of Things (IoT), smart home automation, enterprise networks, and AI-driven network optimization.
Further solidifying its ‘India-first’ approach, TP-Link is also setting up a dedicated R&D Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. This GCC is slated to become operational in the coming weeks and will serve as a pivotal engine for product innovation, catering to both the Indian and global markets. Its core focus areas will include firmware development, advanced AI/ML applications, and sophisticated networking solutions across TP-Link’s extensive product portfolio, including its enterprise solutions brand, Omada.
Sanjay Sehgal, MD & CEO, TP-Link, emphasized the strategic importance of these new facilities, stating, “Our new facility is more than just a physical space; it’s a launchpad for ideas. Equipped with cutting-edge resources, mentorship support, and access to strategic networks, it will serve as a hub for aspiring entrepreneurs, tech innovators, and visionaries from across the regions.” He further added, “The opening of the new office reflects TP-Link’s strong commitment to the Indian market and our long-term growth strategy in the region.”
As part of its comprehensive growth strategy for India, TP-Link plans to significantly broaden its service centre network, with a particular emphasis on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The company aims to establish 20 additional service centres within the next year, which will position TP-Link India among the largest in terms of nationwide after-sales infrastructure. Complementing this expansion, TP-Link India intends to increase its current headcount of 300 employees by 30% over the next year, recruiting talent across various functions including technology, analytics, finance, and shared services. Mr. Sehgal affirmed, “We are committed to expanding our talent pool across various functions, with a particular emphasis on bolstering our global capability centre (GCC). TP-Link’s commitment extends to supporting India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, with significant steps taken to localize manufacturing through partnerships with Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers such as Pacific Cyber Technology, Optiemus, and Vivaan Electronic. These collaborations facilitate the domestic production of network switches, access points, surveillance cameras, Wi-Fi routers, and mesh network systems. While the consumer segment, driven by Wi-Fi routers, surveillance products, mesh systems, and smart home solutions, currently constitutes the major portion of TP-Link’s sales in India, the enterprise segment is rapidly gaining traction. The company is strategically focusing on selling Wi-Fi 6 equipment, IoT solutions, and enterprise networking products in 2025 and 2026 to further capitalize on this growing market segment.
