TLDR: TourRadar has launched ‘AI Discovery,’ a comprehensive suite of artificial intelligence-powered integrations designed to transform how travelers find and book multi-day tours. The new tools leverage technologies from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s Vertex AI, alongside TourRadar’s own Model Context Protocol (MCP) developer platform, to offer personalized and intuitive travel planning experiences.
TourRadar, a leading platform for organized adventures, announced today the launch of its ‘AI Discovery’ suite, a significant step towards reimagining how travelers discover and book multi-day tours. This innovative initiative integrates advanced artificial intelligence technologies, including ChatGPT and Perplexity, to provide a more seamless and personalized travel planning experience.
The ‘AI Discovery’ suite is multifaceted, offering three primary entry points for discovery. Firstly, it leverages TourRadar’s new Model Context Protocol (MCP) developer platform, which allows large language models (LLMs), online travel agencies (OTAs), and developers to access TourRadar’s extensive inventory. This integration facilitates AI-powered bookings on platforms such as Perplexity, Gemini, and ChatGPT, streamlining the booking process directly through AI assistants.
Secondly, TourRadar has developed a CustomGPT assistant in collaboration with ChatGPT. This allows users to explore organized adventures using natural language search, making the discovery process more intuitive and conversational. Travelers can articulate their preferences and receive tailored recommendations, enhancing the relevance of their search results.
Thirdly, the company has integrated with Instagram, utilizing Google’s Vertex AI to connect social media inspiration with actionable travel planning. This move aims to bridge the gap between social commerce and the multi-day organized adventure category, allowing users to move from inspiration to booking more fluidly.
TourRadar’s inventory boasts over 50,000 adventures from 2,500 operators, including renowned brands like G Adventures, Intrepid Travel, Globus, and Contiki. The ‘AI Discovery’ suite is designed to harness this vast selection, making it more accessible and discoverable through AI-driven insights.
Travis Pittman, CEO and co-founder of TourRadar, emphasized the strategic vision behind this launch. “Travelers are telling us they want inspiration from social media and guidance from AI, but they also want trust, transparency, and control,” Pittman stated. He added, “With AI Discovery, any surface can become a gateway to organized adventures. We are not just digitizing inventory, we are transforming it into an infrastructure layer that powers the future of AI-driven discovery and social commerce.”

The company’s move into advanced AI integrations aligns with broader industry trends, as other travel giants like Expedia and Booking.com also explore the intersection of social media and AI to disrupt the traditional search environment.
