TLDR: TELUS Digital, formerly TELUS International, has acquired Gerent, a U.S.-based Salesforce-focused consultancy, to significantly enhance its AI-driven customer experience (CX) solutions. This strategic move aims to integrate Gerent’s Salesforce expertise and agentic AI capabilities with TELUS Digital’s offerings, positioning the company for dominance in the rapidly expanding CX market.
Vancouver, B.C. – In a significant strategic maneuver to solidify its position in the burgeoning AI-driven customer experience (CX) market, TELUS Digital, previously known as TELUS International, announced its acquisition of Gerent, a prominent U.S.-based Salesforce-focused consultancy. While the acquisition was initially announced in late May 2025, news reports on July 6, 2025, highlighted the profound implications of this integration for the future of CX solutions.
Gerent brings to TELUS Digital a robust portfolio of Salesforce expertise, boasting 1,800 certifications across the entire Salesforce product suite and a track record of over 1,000 global implementations. The company has maintained an impressive customer satisfaction score of 4.9 out of 5.0, reflecting its commitment to client success. A key asset in this acquisition is Gerent’s proficiency in ‘agentic AI solutions,’ which involve autonomous agents capable of handling tasks such as lead engagement, customer support, and personalized recommendations without direct human intervention. Gerent’s fully remote workforce spans four continents, offering extensive 24/7 support capabilities.
This acquisition is poised to create substantial synergies. TELUS Digital aims to integrate Gerent’s agentic AI capabilities with its proprietary Fuel iX platform, fostering a hybrid workforce that combines human creativity with AI efficiency. This blend is designed to address a critical challenge for enterprises: scaling CX operations without compromising quality. The strategy involves AI handling repetitive tasks, thereby freeing up TELUS’s human teams to focus on more complex, high-value customer interactions.
Tobias Dengel, President, TELUS Digital Solutions, emphasized the strategic alignment, stating, “Gerent will further strengthen our company’s expertise in transforming the CX agent experience, including the development and implementation of agentic AI as part of our Digital Solutions service line. The numerous synergies between our two companies helps us advance our fusion-based growth strategy that brings top talent together with advanced technologies. Together we are positioned to create the workforces of the future for our clients, which combine AI-enabled humans and autonomous AI agents to deliver smarter, faster and more personalized CX at scale.”
The integration process is already underway, with the Gerent brand slated for retirement by the end of Q3 2025, at which point its operations will be fully folded into TELUS Digital. This transition is expected to unlock immediate opportunities, including cross-selling Gerent’s specialized Salesforce expertise to TELUS Digital’s existing client base of over 600 global enterprises. Furthermore, combining TELUS’s telecom-scale infrastructure with Gerent’s distributed workforce is anticipated to yield significant cost synergies and expand global support capabilities.
