Synology’s Solution Day 2025: Championing Data Sovereignty and AI-Powered Innovation for Enterprises

TLDR: Synology’s Solution Day 2025 events in Melbourne and Mumbai underscored the critical importance of data sovereignty and showcased new AI-driven enterprise solutions. The company unveiled advancements in storage, data protection, and AI-powered productivity tools, emphasizing secure, on-premises data management and responsible AI adoption for businesses.

Synology recently hosted its Solution Day 2025 events, making significant stops in Melbourne, Australia, and Mumbai, India, around September 22, 2025. These gatherings brought together over 250 IT leaders and partners in Melbourne alone, to explore the evolving landscape of enterprise data management, with a strong emphasis on data sovereignty and the integration of artificial intelligence.

At the core of Synology’s message was the commitment to empowering organizations with greater control over their data. Joanne Weng, Director of International Business at Synology, articulated this vision, stating, “Synology’s mission is to build a better world with data. As AI transforms the way organizations operate, it is crucial for businesses to maintain control and sovereignty over their information.” She added that Solution Day 2025 showcased solutions prioritizing data autonomy, enabling businesses to make informed decisions, safeguard critical assets, and responsibly leverage technology for sustainable outcomes.

The events highlighted Synology’s expanded enterprise portfolio, moving beyond its traditional prosumer and SMB roots to become a full-scale enterprise solution provider. This shift reflects the increasing demand for secure, resilient, and AI-ready infrastructure. Antoine Yang, Regional Sales Head at Synology, noted strong double-digit growth in the Asia-Pacific regions, with India showing particularly robust momentum driven by the need for sophisticated business data management solutions.

A key focus was on new offerings designed to enhance enterprise productivity and security. Synology introduced a new unified communication platform featuring integrated messaging and video conferencing, alongside AI-driven document management tools. These innovations are managed via the Synology AI Console, which aims to embed governance into AI usage, allowing enterprises to adopt advanced tools without exposing sensitive data to uncontrolled environments. Businesses can further enhance these tools with on-premises AI server integration and custom AI agents to optimize workflows.

Panel discussions at Solution Day 2025 delved into critical topics such as cyber resilience and data sovereignty. In Melbourne, experts like Dr. Edwin R. Lampugnani, Founding Director and CEO of AirHealth, stressed the importance of data integrity, stating, “Accurate, timely health alerts rely on uncompromised data integrity. At AirHealth, it’s a privilege to hold citizen data, and safeguarding it is central to our mission.” Grant Crough, CISO of LEAP Strategies, underscored the severity of cybersecurity risks, warning that organizations failing to build resilience and uphold data sovereignty risk regulatory penalties, reputational damage, and irreversible loss of trust. Neil Shan, Managing Director of IT Ecosystems, also contributed insights into the challenges faced by smaller firms.

The discussions also touched upon the responsible adoption of AI. Experts cautioned against the risks of flawed AI output propagating through data stores and the need for robust governance frameworks. The importance of training users to understand AI capabilities and safe usage was emphasized, alongside applying the same diligence to AI systems as to other critical infrastructure, including logging and monitoring for anomalous events.
