TLDR: Swarm Network has successfully raised $13 million to further its decentralized AI verification protocol. The funding includes $10 million from an NFT-based Agent License sale on the Sui network and $3 million from strategic investors like Sui, Ghaf Capital, and Brinc. This capital infusion will support the development of its AI Agent Layer, enabling a globally distributed ecosystem for verifying digital information and combating misinformation.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Swarm Network, a pioneering decentralized AI protocol, has announced a significant funding round, securing a total of $13 million to accelerate the development of its decentralized AI verification system. The funding comprises $10 million generated through a public Agent License Sale conducted on the Sui network, complemented by $3 million in strategic investments from key backers including Sui, Ghaf Capital, Brinc, Y2Z, and Zerostage.
The capital infusion is earmarked for building out Swarm’s decentralized AI verification protocol, which aims to transform raw off-chain data into verifiable on-chain information. This initiative is crucial in an era grappling with widespread misinformation, as highlighted by Swarm’s existing universal AI solution for fact-checking, Rollup News, which has already attracted over 128,000 users and verified more than 3 million posts to date.
The Agent Licenses, issued as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the Sui network, form the backbone of Swarm Network’s AI Agent Layer. These licenses are operational keys that facilitate a globally distributed verification ecosystem, generating daily rewards for operators who contribute to maintaining the network’s integrity. Over 10,000 licenses have been sold, demonstrating robust public interest and confidence in Swarm’s agentic framework. A forthcoming feature, Agent BUIDL, will empower license holders to customize and train their AI agents, optimizing them for specific verification tasks and enhancing the network’s efficiency.
Swarm’s participation in the inaugural cohort of SuiHub’s Dubai-based global accelerator played a pivotal role in securing a portion of this strategic investment. The accelerator program, known for its rigorous selection process, accepted only 1.3% of over 630 applications from 152 countries, underscoring the strength and innovative approach of Swarm Network. Investments from Sui, Ghaf Capital, and Brinc were secured through this program.
Kostas Chalkias, Co-Founder of Sui, expressed strong support for Swarm Network, stating, “We need some strong teams in the AI spectrum. Swarm’s whole presentation is appealing; they’re in this space of successful startups.” This endorsement highlights the growing convergence of AI and blockchain technologies and the demand for robust, decentralized infrastructure in the AI space.
