Spike AI, an innovative startup at the forefront of autonomous marketing intelligence, has announced the successful closure of a $1.9 million pre-seed funding round. The significant investment was spearheaded by Sorin Investments, a venture capital firm co-founded by Sanjay Nayar and Angad Banga. Additional co-investment came from Bay Area-based Principal Venture Partners, with strategic participation from investors including GSI.
Founded in 2024 by Deepesh Kumar and Shrestha Pratik, Spike AI is building what it describes as the first autonomous marketing intelligence system. The company’s flagship offering, the MAGI platform, is designed to replace fragmented marketing tools and traditional guesswork with a single, self-driving solution. This platform functions akin to an elite growth team, capable of analyzing marketing channels, pinpointing areas of friction, and deploying real-time improvements.
Deepesh Kumar, CEO of Spike AI, emphasized the industry’s evolving needs, stating, “The trillion-dollar marketing industry doesn’t need more dashboards and tools; it needs intelligent orchestration.” He added that “Spike AI delivers a 24/7 AI growth team, shipping measurable outcomes 10x faster.” The founders bring extensive expertise to the venture; Deepesh Kumar previously led growth and experimentation at multiple tech companies, while Shrestha Pratik, a generative AI leader, held team lead positions at Meta and drove data-led growth at FICO and Swiggy.
Shrestha Pratik, CTO of Spike AI, highlighted the transformative nature of their technology, remarking, “A lot of current AI focuses on speeding up old habits. But what if those habits were never ideal? Spike AI’s MAGI is marketing’s AlphaGo: adaptive, explainable, relentless.” Early adopters of Spike AI’s platform have already reported impressive results, with some achieving over 40% increases in conversion rates. Notably, one early user was so impressed that they offered to acquire Spike before ultimately joining the funding round.
Mandar Dandekar, Partner at Sorin Investments, expressed strong confidence in Spike AI’s vision. “Spike AI isn’t just another SaaS tool. It’s the first real attempt at building a ‘marketing brain’ that can replace bloated agency workflows and instinct-driven marketing with measurable, intelligent growth,” Dandekar stated. He further added, “We’re excited to back a bold, technically sound team that’s not just building software but reimagining the very foundation of how marketing works in the AI age.”
