TLDR: SAP has launched a new learning journey titled ‘Discovering High-Value Opportunities for Agentic AI’ on July 21, 2025. This program aims to equip professionals with the skills to identify and implement high-impact use cases for agentic AI within their organizations, particularly through the facilitation of the Joule Agent Discovery Workshop. The initiative builds on previous AI enablement efforts and focuses on leveraging autonomous AI systems to streamline complex business processes and drive operational excellence.
On July 21, 2025, SAP officially launched its latest educational initiative, the ‘Discovering High-Value Opportunities for Agentic AI’ learning journey. This new program is designed to guide professionals in identifying and defining impactful applications for agentic AI within their respective organizations, marking the next significant chapter in SAP’s AI enablement efforts following the ‘Applying a Human-Centered Approach to Identify and Define Business AI Use Cases’ journey introduced in November 2024.
At the core of this new learning journey is the Joule Agent Discovery Workshop. This structured and collaborative method introduces participants to the concept of Joule Agents, which are defined as AI systems capable of autonomously planning and executing multi-step workflows. These agents are designed to foster collaboration across departments, accelerate decision-making, and streamline various business processes.
Attendees of the course will gain the expertise to facilitate these workshops, guiding participants through idea generation, prioritization, and detailed description of agentic use cases. The curriculum emphasizes adaptability, teaching how to tailor the workshop format to suit different timeframes, team sizes, and virtual environments. By the conclusion of the program, learners will be proficient in helping organizations pinpoint where AI agents can deliver the most significant impact, thereby laying a robust foundation for their agentic AI journey.
The learning journey is particularly beneficial for finance leaders, providing a comprehensive five-phase framework for integrating external AI models into the SAP Business AI ecosystem. This framework encompasses critical stages such as Model Selection & Risk Assessment, Secure Provisioning & Connectivity, Building Secure RAG Pipelines, Staging Validation & Governance Testing, and Production Monitoring & Continuous Improvement. Adopting this roadmap can lead to substantial AI-driven efficiencies across functions like Accounts Receivable (AR), treasury, and planning, while simultaneously ensuring stringent data security and governance. For instance, the framework has the potential to boost invoice matching accuracy by up to 30%.
Jesper Schleimann, AI Officer EMEA at SAP, highlighted the broader industry trend, stating in a LinkedIn post, “2025 will be a transition year for AI as we move from AI pilots to wider scale adoption. This will also require a greater focus on how we adjust our organizations to this new way of value creation.” This sentiment underscores the strategic importance of SAP’s new learning journey in preparing businesses for the widespread integration of AI.
The course is presented in the format of an SAP Expert Lecture and includes helpful exercises to assist customers and partners in exploring and approaching the field of agentic AI. A dedicated online course discussion forum will be moderated from July 21, 2025, through August 22, 2025, providing a platform for learners to connect with SAP experts and collaborate with peers.
