Samsung Unveils Vision AI Companion to Revolutionize Smart TV Interaction

TLDR: Samsung has launched Vision AI Companion for its 2025 Smart TVs and monitors, integrating generative AI to offer more natural conversational experiences, personalized content discovery, and seamless multi-device interaction. The feature, building on Bixby, aims to redefine home entertainment by making TVs more intuitive and responsive to individual user needs.

Samsung Electronics has officially introduced its Vision AI Companion, a groundbreaking feature set to transform smart TV and monitor experiences. Unveiled at IFA 2025, following its initial concept presentation at CES 2025, the Vision AI Companion is powered by advanced generative AI, promising a new era of personalized home entertainment.

This innovative companion enhances the existing Bixby voice assistant, enabling more natural, multi-turn conversational interactions. Users can now engage with their television to receive contextualized answers and effortlessly discover content without navigating through multiple apps or menus. The system is designed to understand context and follow-up questions, creating a fluid interaction that mimics human conversation.

Key features of the Vision AI Companion include: Generative Wallpaper, which dynamically crafts visuals tailored to user preferences; AI Picture, Active Voice Amplifier Pro, and AI Upscaling Pro, which automatically optimize picture and sound for the viewing environment; and AI Gaming Mode, offering enhanced gameplay through AI-driven responsiveness and immersion. Furthermore, it supports standalone AI agent apps such as Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, extending its utility beyond entertainment to productivity and task management.

Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, emphasized the company’s strategic vision: “At Samsung, we’re investing in technology that makes experiences more personal, more intuitive, and built for the future. With Vision AI Companion, we are redefining what a TV can do, going beyond picture quality and sound to deliver an experience that understands you, interacts with you and evolves with you over time.”
