Samsung has officially introduced its latest mid-range 5G smartphone, the Galaxy A17, to the Indian market. The new device, which succeeds the Galaxy A16, is designed to offer advanced features at an accessible price point, with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence integration.
One of the most notable aspects of the Galaxy A17 is its inclusion of generative AI features. Users will be able to experience functionalities such as ‘Gemini Live’ and ‘Circle to Search’, enhancing the smartphone’s intelligence and user interaction.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy A17 5G boasts a 6.7-inch Full HD+ (1080x2340p) Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-U design and a 90Hz refresh rate, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The device is powered by Samsung’s in-house 5nm class Exynos 1330 octa-core processor, coupled with a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the triple-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and auto-focus, a 5MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide angle sensor, and a 2MP (f/2.2) macro camera with LED flash. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone is equipped with a 13MP (f/2.0) front camera.
The Galaxy A17 5G is built to last with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 25W wired fast charging. It runs on Android 15-based One UI 7.0 and is promised to receive six years of Android OS updates and software security patches. Additional features include an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, hybrid dual-SIM slots, and a USB Type-C port.

The smartphone is available in three color options: black, blue, and grey. It comes in various storage configurations: the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 18,999, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant at Rs 20,499, and the top-end 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model at Rs 23,499. The Galaxy A17 5G is already listed on Samsung’s official website and is set to compete with devices like Nothing’s CMF Phone 2 Pro, iQOO Z10x, and Redmi 15.
