Samsung Introduces Vision AI Companion at IFA 2025, Ushering in Advanced AI for TVs and Monitors

TLDR: Samsung unveiled its Vision AI Companion at IFA 2025, marking a significant leap in AI-powered displays for TVs and monitors. This new system integrates a smarter Bixby voice assistant with advanced AI features, offering conversational and visual intelligence, real-time translation, dynamic wallpapers, and enhanced gaming, transforming displays into intuitive hubs for entertainment and productivity.

Berlin, Germany – September 4, 2025 – Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of its Vision AI Companion at IFA 2025, heralding a new era of artificial intelligence-powered displays across its range of TVs and monitors. This innovative system is designed to deliver a more personal, intuitive, and future-ready viewing experience by integrating Samsung’s most advanced AI features into a single, seamless platform.

At the core of Vision AI Companion is a significantly smarter Bixby voice assistant, engineered to provide more natural and conversational interactions. Powered by Generative AI, the system allows users to engage in fluid dialogues, understanding context and follow-up questions without the need for strict commands, menus, or typing. Users can simply press a dedicated AI button on their remote control to ask questions about anything displayed on the screen, from film details and artwork names to travel destination recommendations. The AI companion responds with visualized, intelligent answers, often including related video clips and images, making content discovery richer and more immersive.

Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at the Visual Display Business of Samsung Electronics, emphasized the company’s vision: “At Samsung, we’re investing in technology that makes experiences more personal, more intuitive, and built for the future. With Vision AI Companion, we are redefining what a TV can do, going beyond picture quality and sound to deliver an experience that understands you, interacts with you and evolves with you over time.”

The Vision AI Companion unifies several cutting-edge AI functionalities. Key features include Live Translate, offering real-time translation for conversations and on-screen dialogue; Generative Wallpaper, which creates dynamic and customizable background visuals based on user preferences; and AI Picture & AI Sound, which automatically optimizes display and audio quality through technologies like Active Voice Amplifier Pro and AI Upscaling Pro. For gamers, an AI Gaming Mode promises enhanced, responsive gameplay through AI optimization. Furthermore, the platform integrates productivity tools by providing direct access to apps like Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, effectively transforming the television into a versatile workstation.

This integration positions the Vision AI Companion as a central hub for connected living, eliminating the need to switch between multiple applications or menus. It streamlines entertainment, productivity, and multi-device interactions, making the TV a more integral part of the smart home ecosystem. The concept of Vision AI was initially introduced at CES 2025, where Samsung outlined its ambition to enhance the home screen experience across various displays.
