Rubrik Unveils ‘Agent Cloud’ for Comprehensive AI Agent Governance and Risk Management

TLDR: Rubrik has launched ‘Agent Cloud,’ an enterprise platform designed to monitor, govern, and remediate actions of AI agents across various cloud and SaaS environments. Built on the Rubrik Security Cloud, this new offering aims to provide organizations with operational control over autonomous AI agents, addressing risks such as unintended actions, potential compromises, and data governance challenges. Key features include auto-discovery and monitoring of agents, real-time policy enforcement, and the ability to roll back unwanted AI-driven changes.

Rubrik, a leader in data security and cyber resilience, announced on October 22, 2025, the introduction of its new enterprise platform, ‘Rubrik Agent Cloud.’ This innovative solution is positioned as the first enterprise control layer for the entire AI agent lifecycle, extending Rubrik’s existing cyber recovery capabilities to the burgeoning field of agentic AI. The platform is designed to help organizations deploy AI agents confidently while maintaining crucial operational oversight and mitigating associated risks.

CEO Bipul Sinha highlighted the ongoing ‘agentic AI revolution,’ where AI agents are increasingly operating autonomously, performing tasks such as data analysis, decision-making, coding, and resolving support issues. However, Sinha also underscored the new risks these agents introduce, ranging from unintended actions to potential compromise, which could have severe operational and reputational consequences. ‘At Rubrik, we believe progress should never come at the cost of control,’ Sinha stated, emphasizing this belief as the driving force behind Agent Cloud.

Rubrik Agent Cloud builds upon the foundation of Rubrik Security Cloud, integrating data, identity, and application context to provide answers to critical questions for organizational leaders. These include: ‘What agents do I have? What are they capable of doing? What data can they access? What did they just do? And if something goes wrong, can I undo it?’

According to Rubrik, the platform delivers three core capabilities:

1. Agent Monitor: This feature automatically discovers and maps agents from popular builders and platforms, including OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and Amazon Bedrock. It continuously monitors agent activity and data access, maintaining immutable audit trails with comprehensive context from data, identity, and applications.

2. Agent Govern: This capability allows organizations to define and enforce real-time policies for agent behavior, access, and actions. It integrates with enterprise identity systems to ensure secure, compliant, and controlled innovation, enabling teams to track agent usage and evaluate performance against prompts.

3. Agent Remediate: Building on the previously announced ‘Agent Rewind’ (introduced in August 2025), this function enables the rollback of unwanted or destructive actions. It integrates with Rubrik Security Cloud to provide precise time and blast-radius rollback of undesirable changes without downtime or data loss, ensuring continuous protection for critical data and systems.

Industry experts acknowledge the growing need for such solutions. Johnny Yu, Research Manager at IDC, noted that ‘Agentic AI introduces the concept of ‘non-human error,’ and as with its human counterpart, organizations should explore solutions that allow them to correct potentially catastrophic mistakes made by agentic AI.’

The launch addresses significant concerns among IT leaders, with Rubrik’s product page highlighting that 90% worry about ‘shadow AI,’ 63% lack confidence in recovery when AI goes wrong, and 73% struggle with data governance and compliance. Rubrik Agent Cloud is currently available via a waitlist on the company’s product page, with more details expected to be revealed in a webinar on November 6, 2025.
