The core of this initiative involves the seamless integration of RealSense’s cutting-edge AI depth cameras with NVIDIA’s robust robotics platforms. Specifically, RealSense’s new D555 depth camera, featuring a v5 Vision Processor and on-chip Power over Ethernet (PoE), will be a cornerstone. This camera delivers native NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge streaming and incorporates on-camera neural networks for advanced image post-processing. Its ruggedized design, global shutter, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), and native ROS 2 support are engineered to provide high-fidelity perception data crucial for complex robotic applications.
Complementing RealSense’s perception technology are NVIDIA’s powerful platforms. The NVIDIA Jetson Thor Series, powered by the Blackwell GPU, stands out with its impressive specifications: up to 2070 FP4 teraflops of AI compute and 128GB of memory, all within a 130-watt power envelope. This represents a substantial leap, offering up to 7.5 times higher AI compute and 3.5 times greater energy efficiency compared to its predecessor, NVIDIA Jetson Orin.
