TLDR: Business process automation leaders ProcessMaker and Decisions have announced their merger, creating a unified entity poised to dominate the rapidly expanding Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies (BOAT) market. This strategic combination aims to deliver comprehensive AI, process orchestration, automation, and discovery solutions, addressing the growing enterprise demand for consolidated platforms and accelerating digital transformation.
In a significant development poised to reshape the landscape of enterprise automation, ProcessMaker and Decisions, two prominent firms in business process automation, have officially merged. The announcement, made around November 10-11, 2025, positions the newly combined entity at the forefront of the Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies (BOAT) market, with a clear focus on accelerating business automation and AI orchestration.
The merger is a strategic response to the increasing demand for unified automation platforms. According to a Gartner prediction cited in the announcement, by 2030, a substantial 70 percent of enterprises are expected to adopt unified platforms that seamlessly orchestrate business processes, AI agents, bots, APIs, and human actions, a significant leap from just 5 percent today. This trend underscores the critical need for integrated solutions that can manage complex, end-to-end workflows across various systems and human interactions.
The new company, led by CEO Giles Whiting, who brings over two decades of experience in driving growth and transformation across SaaS, technology, and private equity, aims to simplify and master complex workflows. The combined strengths of ProcessMaker and Decisions are expected to unlock greater value for customers. ProcessMaker contributes its expertise in AI-enriched workflows, low-code development, and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), while Decisions brings its robust enterprise-grade rules engine, process orchestration, and case management capabilities. This synergy is designed to reduce the effort required for process automation and enable rapid scaling.
“This merger excites me because we’re bringing together highly complementary enterprise and mid-market segments, geographic footprints, and technologies,” stated Giles Whiting. “Even more exciting is that we’re able to transform our customers’ workflows and end-to-end, mission-critical processes with industry-leading AI orchestration, automation, and integrations.”
Brian Reale, co-founder of ProcessMaker, emphasized the platform’s role in eliminating tool sprawl and accelerating time-to-value. “We’re creating a platform that eliminates tool sprawl, accelerates time-to-value, and gives businesses the agility to adapt processes on the fly,” Reale commented, calling it “business orchestration built for the next decade.” Heath Oderman, co-founder of Decisions, added that the unified BOAT platform is essential for enterprises in the AI era, capable of orchestrating everything from legacy systems to cutting-edge AI agents, including people at every point.
The merged organization boasts over 700 combined customers, demonstrating proven expertise in automating complex processes across diverse industry verticals such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, education, and manufacturing. Mirza Baig, Managing Partner of Aldrich Capital Partners, highlighted the market’s need for this unified approach: “To extract real value, customers will require a unified approach to AI and the growing list of automation technologies.”
