TLDR: The UK’s inaugural conference dedicated to Artificial Intelligence in livestock farming, AI(Live), is set to take place on September 23, 2025, at the Science Museum in London. This landmark event will gather industry leaders, farmers, and tech innovators to explore how AI can revolutionize animal agriculture, focusing on productivity, sustainability, and ethical data use.
London is poised to host a groundbreaking event for the agricultural sector with the launch of AI(Live), the United Kingdom’s first dedicated conference on Artificial Intelligence applications in livestock farming. Scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the prestigious Science Museum, the conference aims to be a pivotal forum for discussing the transformative potential of AI in animal agriculture.
Organized by Agsenze and IVC Farm Vets, AI(Live) will convene a diverse group of stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, technology innovators, regulators, policymakers, processors, and consultants. The primary objective is to foster a dialogue around how AI can enhance productivity, sustainability, and efficiency across the livestock industry.
Matt Dobbs, CEO of Agsenze and a co-lead organizer, emphasized the profound impact AI could have: “AI has the potential to significantly shape livestock farming for the better, developing creative solutions to the challenges the industry faces and turn the vast amount of data held by farmers and others in the industry into valuable insights.” Dobbs also highlighted a critical concern regarding data: “However, it is fundamentally important that the development and use of AI in livestock farming is driven by the industry, remains farmer centric and recognises the value of farm data. We are already seeing AI developers approaching farms for access to data with no mention of data security, how this will benefit their herds and flocks or how farmers will be remunerated for their data.”
Paul Horwood from IVC Farm Vets, another co-lead organizer, reiterated the conference’s role in ensuring responsible AI adoption. “AI(Live) is the UK’s first conference dedicated to the application of AI in livestock farming and will help ensure that technologies are developed in a way that benefits the industry with appropriate safeguards,” he stated.
The conference agenda is packed with influential speakers from both farming and technology sectors, including Dan Sodergren, Professor Jude Capper, and David Speller. Key topics will encompass harnessing data for precision agriculture, the role of data in driving sector growth, policy and regulation for Livestock AgriTech, and envisioning the future of livestock farming. A central theme will also be the ethical considerations and the use of AI to support more sustainable and resilient supply chains, including discussions on achieving net-zero farming goals.
