Pearson Expands AI-Powered ‘Study Prep’ Platform to India as Part of Global Rollout

TLDR: Pearson has launched its AI-powered ‘Study Prep’ platform in India and other international markets, offering personalized learning support across over 25 academic subjects. The platform integrates human expertise with AI tools like syllabus-matching technology and an AI Tutor, providing video explanations, practice problems, and instant guidance. This global expansion highlights Pearson’s commitment to responsibly integrating AI into education to enhance learning outcomes.

Pearson, a global leader in lifelong learning, has announced the international expansion of its AI-powered ‘Study Prep’ platform, bringing personalized study support to students in India and several other countries. This strategic move, launched commercially in the first half of 2025, aims to broaden access to AI-enhanced learning resources worldwide, including Canada, Brazil, the UK, China, and South Africa.

‘Study Prep’ is designed to complement traditional course materials by offering on-demand support tailored to specific academic courses. The platform integrates human expertise with thoughtfully designed AI, purpose-built for learning. Students gain access to thousands of bite-sized video explanations, interactive practice problems, and assistance from expert human tutors.

A core feature of ‘Study Prep’ is its AI-driven tools. The syllabus-matching technology creates personalized study plans that align with a student’s unique curriculum. Furthermore, an embedded ‘AI Tutor’ provides scaffolded, step-by-step guidance, helping students instantly tackle challenging concepts. Students can interact directly with video content by clicking an ‘ask a question’ button, which automatically pauses the video and prompts the AI chatbot to provide answers on those specific concepts.

Ebrahim Matthews, Senior Vice President of Pearson International Higher Education, emphasized the significance of this expansion, stating, “In today’s increasingly AI-driven world, students need learning tools that not only help them master course content but enable them to learn better and think deeper, preparing them for the future.” He added, “By expanding Study Prep globally, we’re ensuring that quality educational support is available to students wherever and whenever they need it, regardless of geography or time zone.”

The platform currently supports over 25 academic subjects, including sciences, mathematics, and psychology, with plans to add more disciplines in the near future. Pearson’s approach to generative AI is grounded in learning science, thoroughly vetted by subject matter experts, and has demonstrated improved learning outcomes, fostering more active, engaged study and higher-order cognition among students.

With over 80% of its products now digital or digitally enabled, Pearson is deeply committed to the responsible application of AI to enhance the teaching and learning experience for educators, students, and employers globally. ‘Study Prep’ was previously known as ‘Channels’ in the United States.
