Oracle Integrates Google Gemini AI Models into OCI Generative AI Service

TLDR: Oracle and Google Cloud have expanded their partnership, enabling Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) customers to access Google’s advanced Gemini AI models, starting with Gemini 2.5. This integration allows enterprises to build sophisticated AI agents for diverse applications, leveraging existing Oracle Universal Credits.

Austin, Texas and Sunnyvale, California – Oracle and Google Cloud have announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership, bringing Google’s cutting-edge Gemini AI models directly to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) customers. This collaboration is set to accelerate enterprises’ journey into agentic AI, providing a robust platform for innovation across various industries.

Starting with Gemini 2.5, Oracle customers can now seamlessly integrate and utilize Google’s most advanced AI models through the OCI Generative AI service. This move empowers businesses to develop sophisticated AI agents capable of multimodal understanding, advanced coding and software development tasks, productivity and workflow automation, and comprehensive research and knowledge retrieval. A key advantage for Oracle customers is the ability to leverage their existing Oracle Universal Credits for these new services, simplifying adoption and enhancing cost-effectiveness.

Oracle’s commitment extends to making Google’s entire suite of Gemini models available via OCI Generative AI service, facilitated by new integrations with Vertex AI. This includes specialized models for video, image, speech, and music generation, as well as industry-specific models like MedLM. Looking ahead, Oracle and Google Cloud plan to further embed Gemini models from Vertex AI as an optional feature within Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. This future integration will offer customers expanded choices to optimize workflows in critical business areas such as finance, human resources, supply chain management, sales, service, and marketing.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, emphasized the enterprise-centric capabilities of Gemini models, stating, “Today, leading enterprises are using Gemini to power AI agents across a range of use cases and industries. Now, Oracle customers can access our leading models from within their Oracle environments, making it even easier for them to begin deploying powerful AI agents that can support developers, streamline data integration tasks, and much more.” Gemini models are particularly well-suited for enterprise applications due to their ability to ground responses in up-to-date Google Search data for accuracy, large context windows, strong encryption and data privacy policies, and superior reasoning abilities.
