OpenLedger Unveils AI Blockchain for Liquid Data, Models, and Autonomous Agents

TLDR: OpenLedger has launched an innovative AI blockchain platform designed to revolutionize the artificial intelligence ecosystem by enabling the monetization and liquidity of data, AI models, and autonomous agents. Built on over a decade of Stanford research, the platform introduces ‘Proof of Attribution’ to ensure transparency, fair compensation for data contributors, and verifiable AI lifecycle. Its native OPEN token facilitates transactions, governance, and ecosystem incentives, with recent listings on major exchanges like Binance marking a significant step towards democratizing AI resources.

OpenLedger is making waves in the blockchain and artificial intelligence sectors with the introduction of its purpose-built AI blockchain platform, aiming to unlock unprecedented liquidity for data, AI models, and autonomous agents. This initiative is poised to transform AI from a centralized corporate asset into a shared, decentralized economy, allowing these critical AI resources to be treated as native financial primitives.

At the core of OpenLedger’s innovative approach is its ‘Proof of Attribution’ mechanism. This system is designed to identify the specific data points that influence an AI model’s output, ensuring that data contributors are fairly rewarded for their contributions. This addresses a significant challenge in the AI industry, where valuable data has historically been used without proper credit or compensation, representing a potential $500 billion gap. Proof of Attribution also guarantees the explainability of model outputs and provides full provenance of the AI lifecycle, fostering transparency and verifiability.

The platform’s development is backed by over a decade of research from Stanford and spearheaded by four leading academics, lending significant credibility to its technological foundation. OpenLedger offers a comprehensive ecosystem comprising several key components: ‘Datanets’ enable developers to collect specialized data from the community, while the ‘Model Factory’ provides a no-code environment for building and deploying AI models directly onto the OpenLedger Blockchain. Additionally, ‘OpenLoRA’ serves as a decentralized deployment and serving system for LoRA adapters, promising to reduce deployment costs by over 90% through efficient, just-in-time adapter switching, allowing thousands of models to run on a single GPU.

The native utility token, OPEN, is central to the OpenLedger economy and governance. It functions as the gas token for all transactions within the network, including inference fees, model access, staking, and Datanet usage. OPEN tokens are distributed as rewards to data contributors whose data is identified as influencing model inference. Furthermore, token holders can participate in protocol governance, influencing decisions on verification standards, model licensing frameworks, and agent behavior policies. Ecosystem incentives are also allocated in OPEN to encourage the development of new models, Datanets, and agents.

OpenLedger has successfully raised $15 million USD in funding from prominent investors such as Polychain Capital, Borderless Capital, Finality Capital, and Hashkey Capital. The project marked a significant milestone with the listing of its OPEN token on Binance on September 8th, 2025, with trading opening across multiple pairs. Deposits went live on September 5th. Other exchanges like Mexc and decentralized exchanges like Pancake Swap (on Binance Smart Chain) also list the token. As of September 9th, 2025, the total supply of OPEN is 1,000,000,000, with a circulating supply of 215,500,000 (~21.55%) upon listing.

Testnet performance has demonstrated robust adoption, with over six million nodes registered and 25 million transactions processed. Approximately 20,000 AI models have been built on the network, and 27 products are currently live, indicating substantial usage beyond mere speculation. The platform also boasts Ethereum compatibility, ensuring seamless integration with existing EVM-compatible wallets, smart contracts, and Layer 2 ecosystems.
