TLDR: Olas has launched Pearl v1, positioning it as the world’s first decentralized AI agent app store. This platform empowers users with full ownership and control over their autonomous AI agents, blending the accessibility of Web2 with the transparency and self-custody of Web3 infrastructure. The initiative aims to shift the paradigm of AI interaction from centralized control to individual empowerment.
Olas, a prominent decentralized platform focused on developing the ‘agentic economy,’ officially announced the release of Pearl v1 on November 5, 2025. This groundbreaking launch introduces what Olas describes as the world’s first ‘AI agent app store,’ fundamentally reshaping how individuals interact with artificial intelligence by granting them complete ownership and control over their autonomous AI agents.
The Pearl v1 platform is designed to bridge the gap between traditional Web2 technology and the innovative principles of Web3. It offers an intuitive application that combines the ease of Web2 accessibility, such as logins via Google or Apple accounts and funding agents with fiat currency, with the inherent transparency and self-custody features of Web3 infrastructure. This unique integration allows users to deploy and manage AI agents that operate independently on their behalf, with every transaction and action verifiable publicly, ensuring full visibility and control over their digital activities.
David Minarsch, founder of software and protocol development firm Valory and Olas, emphasized the critical importance of user ownership in the evolving AI landscape. “Centralized infrastructure has achieved global reach and performance, yet this concentration means decisions or faults can strip users of their data and work completely,” Minarsch stated. “This is why ownership is so important. At Olas, we’re building towards a future where your AI agents work for you, not for centralized platforms harvesting your data.” This vision underpins Olas’s commitment to ‘co-owned AI,’ a model designed to empower individuals with control over their digital intelligence.
The launch of Pearl v1 follows an extensive 18-month beta program, during which thousands of users executed millions of on-chain transactions. A notable success story from this phase was the Modius, a decentralized finance (DeFi) trading agent built on Pearl, which reportedly delivered an impressive 150% return on investment in fewer than 150 days. This performance underscores the viability and profitability of autonomous agents managing live operations securely.
Pearl v1 leverages advanced technologies to ensure a seamless and secure user experience. It utilizes Safe’s smart account technology for self-custodial wallets that hold user assets, while services like Web3Auth and Transak facilitate critical onboarding steps. The platform is set to feature a growing library of agents catering to various applications, including finance, creative tasks, and social interactions. To further foster ecosystem growth and expand the range of available AI agents, Olas is also supporting a $1 million Accelerator program.

With Pearl v1, Olas aims to establish an open, permissionless substrate for agents to operate on, setting the foundation for a new era where AI agents are truly verifiable assets owned and controlled by their users, rather than being confined to opaque, centralized systems.
