TLDR: Naver announced its new AI agent service, ‘Agent N,’ at its DAN 25 conference, planning a 2026 rollout starting with shopping and search integrations. The company committed over 1 trillion Korean won (approximately $691 million) to GPU investments by 2026 to build a leading AI infrastructure, including a deal for 60,000 Nvidia Blackwell GPUs. This move signifies Naver’s strategic shift to become an AI-driven enterprise, extending AI transformation to B2B sectors and core manufacturing industries.
Seoul, South Korea – Naver, the South Korean internet giant, has officially unveiled its ambitious new artificial intelligence agent, ‘Agent N,’ at its integrated conference, ‘DAN 25,’ held on November 6, 2025, at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The company outlined a comprehensive strategy to transition from its traditional search and shopping platform roots to a fully AI-driven enterprise, marking a significant step in its global AI leadership aspirations.
‘Agent N’ is envisioned as an advanced AI service designed to go beyond simple question-answering. It will observe user behavior, gather information, infer user needs, and proactively execute services deemed most beneficial. Choi Soo-yeon, Naver CEO, emphasized this paradigm shift, stating, “Users will no longer need to deliberate over search terms; they can simply converse with ‘Agent N.’ The AI agent will understand user intent and connect and execute personalized content, products, and services.” She further elaborated, “Instead of wondering what to type, users will simply talk to the agent, which will interpret their intent and connect them to the right content, products and services and even execute tasks.”
The rollout of ‘Agent N’ is planned in phases for the upcoming year. The first quarter of 2026 will see the launch of a shopping agent integrated into Naver’s ‘Naver Plus Store’ service. Following this, an ‘AI Tab’ will be introduced in the second quarter, bringing AI agent capabilities directly into Naver’s unified search platform. The company also intends to sequentially deploy advanced agents across other key services, including advertising. For business operators, ‘Agent N for Business’ will be unveiled starting next year, integrating fragmented solutions and data into a single hub to assist with business analysis and improvement, as explained by Lee Jong-min, head of the Advertising Business Division.
To power this extensive AI transformation, Naver has committed to a substantial investment of over 1 trillion Korean won (approximately $691 million) in Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) by 2026. This investment aims to establish South Korea’s largest and most advanced AI infrastructure. Part of this aggressive expansion includes a deal to acquire 60,000 units of Nvidia’s cutting-edge Blackwell GPUs. Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won highlighted the scale of this commitment, noting, “Naver has been purchasing tens of thousands of GPUs every year, but this time we are investing more aggressively,” and even suggested that “Even with 60,000 units, we believe it won’t be enough (to meet the needs).”
Naver’s AI strategy extends beyond consumer services to encompass the B2B sector and core manufacturing industries. Kim Yu-won, CEO of Naver Cloud, underscored the importance of AI as a critical infrastructure for industrial competitiveness. He stated, “As a company that best understands the nation’s language, data, and industrial structure, Naver is building vertical AI models for specific industries based on ‘Sovereign AI 2.0.’” The company plans to collaborate with major players in shipbuilding, energy, and biotechnology to advance AI utilization across entire manufacturing processes, with ambitions to expand this technology globally to markets like Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Japan. Furthermore, Naver will begin testing its physical AI infrastructure later this year, connecting its headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and its data center in Sejong.

The foundation of ‘Agent N’ relies on Naver’s extensive data and technical infrastructure. Kim Beom-jun, COO leading the Agent N project, explained, “For the shopping agent, we established a high-trust data infrastructure, including reviews accessible only to actual buyers and reservation holders, and inventory data directly linked to sellers. We also developed a verification system to analyze this data.” He likened ‘Agent N’ to a helpful store clerk, ensuring a seamless service flow from product search and recommendations to purchases. Naver leverages its vast user base, including over 45 million monthly active users on the Naver app and 28.5 million on Naver Map, along with highly reliable data, to develop hyper-personalized AI agents.
