James Chisham, VP of Product Management, highlighted the company’s commitment to making AI accessible and trustworthy for finance teams of all sizes, introducing innovations like instant balance sheets and the new Model Context Protocol (MCP). The focus is on practical, verifiable AI workflows with a ‘human in the loop’ approach.
Oracle NetSuite has rolled out its largest suite of product announcements in 27 years, marking a pivotal shift into the ‘AI age’ for finance. James Chisham, VP of Product Management at Oracle NetSuite, expressed immense excitement at SuiteWorld 2025, emphasizing the accessibility and trustworthiness of these new AI tools for finance teams across organizations of all sizes and complexities.
Chisham noted that while many customers are already exploring AI, a common challenge remains in understanding how to best integrate and consume these technologies. NetSuite aims to guide its customers through this landscape, ensuring that the innovations are not overwhelming but practical. He stated, ‘People are super excited. They want this technology.’
A cornerstone of NetSuite’s new offerings is the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard designed to connect AI assistants with live business systems. Chisham enthusiastically highlighted its rapid adoption, noting, ‘It’s not even a year old, and within weeks customers have working solutions.’ He provided an example: ‘They can take a picture of inventory, understand what the item is, and it interacts with NetSuite. I think that’s very cool.’ The integration with popular models like Claude and ChatGPT is seen as a natural progression, leveraging users’ existing familiarity with these tools in a powerful business context.
Trust is a non-negotiable aspect of these AI integrations, especially when dealing with critical financial data. Chisham underscored this, saying, ‘If we’re delivering a revenue number – something the business really relies on – we need to be absolutely sure that number’s correct. What we’ve demonstrated is that users can review it, drill into it, and see exactly where it comes from.’ This principle extends to agentic AI, which NetSuite views as part of a broader AI landscape that includes classical machine learning and generative AI. The company maintains a ‘human in the loop’ philosophy, ensuring that highly trained finance professionals remain integral to the process.

Beyond the Q&A, NetSuite’s AI additions are set to transform core finance operations by automating data entry, flagging anomalies, and streamlining compliance. Features like NetSuite Financial Exception Management, announced at SuiteWorld 2024, continuously scan transactions for deviations from typical patterns, flagging suspicious entries and even suggesting fixes. This acts as an ‘always-on financial watchdog’ to ensure compliance and detect errors or fraud early, mitigating risk and accelerating end-of-period processes. AI-powered analytics and insights are also being enhanced, allowing CFOs and analysts to derive actionable insights and detect trends from large datasets through natural language queries, without requiring specialized data science skills. NetSuite’s Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite has also received significant AI enhancements, incorporating Intelligent Performance Management (IPM) for more accurate forecasts and faster reporting cycles. All NetSuite customers will benefit from these capabilities at no additional cost, as AI is embedded directly into existing processes.
