Mumbai Teen Dhravya Shah Secures $2.6 Million for AI Memory Startup Supermemory, Backed by Tech Giants

TLDR: Dhravya Shah, a 19-year-old from Mumbai, has successfully raised $2.6 million (approximately ₹23 crore) in seed funding for his artificial intelligence startup, Supermemory. The company aims to revolutionize AI’s long-standing challenges with memory and contextual understanding, attracting investments from prominent figures at Google, OpenAI, and Meta.

Nineteen-year-old Dhravya Shah, a prodigy from Mumbai, is making significant waves in Silicon Valley with his groundbreaking AI startup, Supermemory. The company recently secured $2.6 million (around ₹23 crore) in seed funding, drawing the attention and investment of leading AI executives from tech giants like Google, OpenAI, and Meta, including Google AI chief Jeff Dean and DeepMind product manager Logan Kilpatrick.

Supermemory is designed to tackle a critical limitation in artificial intelligence: the ability of AI models to retain and recall information effectively, thereby enhancing contextual understanding and personalization. Shah’s innovative solution introduces a universal memory API for AI applications, which is poised to transform how AI systems recollect, comprehend, and tailor user context. The platform boasts revolutionary multimodal data extraction capabilities, blindingly fast performance, and offers paradigm-shifting use cases for both consumers and developers. Its versatility marks a new era in AI innovation, providing unparalleled power to bring relevant context to the surface in real-time.

Shah’s journey to becoming a tech entrepreneur began in Mumbai, where he balanced rigorous preparations for the demanding IIT entrance exams with his early forays into developing consumer-facing apps and bots. He gained early recognition after selling a Twitter formatting bot to Hypefury, an experience that propelled him to Arizona State University to pursue greater ambitions. During an internship at Cloudflare in 2024, where he focused on AI and infrastructure projects, Shah was encouraged by advisors, including Cloudflare’s CTO Dane Knecht, to develop Supermemory into a comprehensive product.
