Muck Rack Unveils Generative Pulse: Empowering Brands to Shape AI Narratives

TLDR: Muck Rack has launched Generative Pulse, a new solution designed to help brands understand and influence how they are represented in generative AI responses. This platform provides tools to identify sources shaping AI narratives, engage key voices, and measure impact, addressing the growing importance of AI in shaping public perception.

Miami, July 30, 2025 – Muck Rack, a leading provider of PR software, has introduced Generative Pulse, a groundbreaking solution aimed at giving brands unprecedented control over their visibility and narrative within generative artificial intelligence responses. As AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini become primary sources of information, the way these models describe brands is increasingly impacting customer perception, purchasing decisions, and overall reputation.

Generative Pulse is the first PR-specific tool developed to navigate this evolving landscape. It empowers communications teams to identify the journalists, outlets, and other sources that are influencing how AI discusses a brand. The platform then provides the necessary tools to engage these key voices, steer the narrative, and measure the effectiveness of their efforts, all within a unified system.

Greg Galant, co-founder and CEO of Muck Rack, emphasized the critical nature of this development, stating, ‘Brands that aren’t showing up in AI-generated answers aren’t showing up at all. This is a turning point for PR. With Generative Pulse, we’re giving comms teams the insight and actionability they need to lead in the era of generative search.’

The launch of Generative Pulse follows Muck Rack’s recent research report, ‘What Is AI Reading?’, which analyzed over 1 million links cited by AI platforms. The findings reveal that over 95% of links cited by AI originate from non-paid media, with 89% being earned media. Journalistic content accounts for 27% of all citations, a figure that rises to 49% for recent or time-sensitive queries. High-authority outlets such as Reuters, Axios, Financial Times, and AP are dominant sources, though industry-specific sources are frequently cited depending on the query type and topic.

Generative Pulse offers a unique dashboard experience built around Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), a new framework for brand visibility in the AI era. Users can input brand names, competitors, and prompts to generate comprehensive reports. These reports include ‘Share of Voice’ (or ‘Share of Model’) across various Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, analyzed through a wide range of prompts. This provides brands with a clear, comprehensive view of their appearance in AI-generated answers, allowing them to track mentions by brand name, campaign, or keywords, and filter by specific AI platforms or prompts. The tool also directly links top-cited journalists and outlets to Muck Rack’s media database and workflow tools, ensuring seamless integration into existing PR strategies and outreach efforts.
