TLDR: Microsoft Copilot is now available on select 2025 Samsung TVs and Smart Monitors, offering users a free, AI-powered voice assistant for smarter interaction with their devices. This integration transforms the TV into a personal and social companion, providing features like personalized content recommendations, spoiler-free recaps, and general knowledge assistance through a voice-powered interface and on-screen visual cues.
Redmond, Wash., August 27, 2025 – Microsoft has officially launched its AI-powered Copilot on select Samsung TVs and Smart Monitors, marking a significant step in bringing artificial intelligence into the heart of the home. This integration, available on Samsung’s 2025 lineup, aims to transform the television experience by offering a more intuitive and interactive way for users to engage with their devices.
The new Copilot experience is designed to be a voice-powered AI companion, making TVs and monitors easier and more enjoyable to use. It features a friendly on-screen character, sometimes described as a ‘talking blob,’ and presents information through simple visual cards. Users can access Copilot through voice commands or a click of the remote, with integration across the Samsung Tizen OS home, Samsung Daily+, and Click to Search functionalities.
David Washington, Partner General Manager, Microsoft AI, emphasized the strategic placement of this technology, stating, “Copilot on Samsung TVs and monitors brings AI out of your pocket and into the heart of your home.” He highlighted its utility for families and friends to discover content together, get answers to questions, plan activities, or simply connect.
Key features of Copilot include:
Personalized Recommendations: Offering ultra-specific suggestions, such as finding a show ‘like The Queen’s Gambit, but about cooking instead of chess, and under two hours.’
Content Recaps: Providing custom, spoiler-free summaries, allowing users to catch up on shows from a specific point, for example, ‘I want to get back into The Crown, I left off at Season 3, Episode 4. What happened up until then?’
Group-Friendly Picks: Assisting multiple users with diverse preferences, like finding options when ‘Hannah likes rom-coms, David likes…’
General Knowledge and Planning: Answering questions, helping plan weekends, supporting foreign language learning, and breaking down complex concepts directly from the screen.
Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at the Visual Display (VD) Business of Samsung Electronics, underscored the importance of this collaboration: “Through our open AI partnerships, Samsung is setting a new standard for AI-powered screens.” He added that Copilot facilitates quick access to tailored experiences for learning, entertainment, and everyday tasks.
This integration builds on a long-standing partnership between Microsoft and Samsung, which has previously seen collaborations on Windows and Office for Galaxy devices, and Xbox Cloud Gaming on Samsung TVs. Copilot complements Samsung’s existing Vision AI features, including upgrades to Samsung Click to Search and Bixby, its on-device voice assistant, as well as capabilities for automatically translating subtitles and identifying on-screen people and products.
