Maximilian Orgonyi Appointed Chief Transformation Officer at RTL Deutschland, Spearheading AI and Strategic Initiatives

In his new and pivotal role, Orgonyi will be responsible for overseeing RTL Deutschland’s comprehensive transformation agenda. A key focus of his responsibilities will include the development and management of AI partnerships, as well as central procurement. He will report directly to Stephan Schmitter, CEO of RTL Deutschland.

Orgonyi joined RTL Deutschland in 2023, bringing with him a wealth of experience from McKinsey & Company, where he specialized in strategy and corporate finance within the firm’s Media & Tech practice. Since joining RTL, he initially led the strategy team and subsequently took on additional responsibility for central procurement. Most recently, he has been instrumental in driving the development of the company’s AI partnership management.

Stephan Schmitter, CEO of RTL Deutschland, expressed his confidence in Orgonyi’s capabilities, stating, ‘Maximilian Orgonyi is an outstanding transformation expert with a clear strategic vision for the evolving video content market.’ Schmitter further added, ‘His expertise has made him an integral part of our negotiations for the planned acquisition of Sky Deutschland. I’m delighted to welcome him to our executive team as we position RTL Deutschland for the future.’

Orgonyi himself commented on the dynamic shifts within the industry, noting, ‘The media markets are undergoing a fundamental transformation, from streaming to artificial intelligence. RTL Deutschland has a clear strategic response to this change.’ This statement underscores the company’s recognition of AI’s growing importance in the media sector.
