Anjali Kapoor, Former Meta Executive, Appointed as BBC News Director of AI, Innovation, and Growth

Turness stated that the aim is to leverage AI to enhance journalism and specifically grow audiences, particularly among those under 25. Kapoor’s career prior to Meta includes senior leadership roles at prominent media organizations such as The Globe and Mail, Yahoo!, and Bloomberg Media. Her experience in partnering with media organizations to boost audience and revenue growth will be instrumental in her new role at the BBC.

In her statement, Kapoor expressed her honor in joining the BBC, which she described as one of the world’s most trusted news organizations, at a crucial juncture for journalism.
