Magic Newton Unveils AI-Powered Verifiable Automation for Decentralized Finance

TLDR: Magic Newton, developed by Magic Labs, is revolutionizing decentralized finance (DeFi) with its AI-powered verifiable automation layer. The platform simplifies complex Web3 interactions, enabling users to delegate tasks to AI agents securely while maintaining full control of their assets. With over $90 million in funding and rapid user adoption, Magic Newton aims to make DeFi accessible and efficient for a broader audience.

Magic Newton, spearheaded by Magic Labs and the Magic New Foundation, is at the forefront of an AI-powered revolution in decentralized finance (DeFi), introducing the industry’s first verifiable automation layer for on-chain operations. This innovative platform is designed to simplify the often-complex Web3 and DeFi landscape, making it more accessible to both seasoned crypto enthusiasts and new users.

At its core, Magic Newton allows users to delegate intricate financial tasks to AI agents without surrendering control of their private keys. This is achieved through ‘verifiable automation,’ a groundbreaking feature that leverages zero-knowledge proofs (zkProofs) and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE). Every AI command executed on the platform is cryptographically verified, ensuring that all actions strictly adhere to the user’s predefined instructions and are publicly auditable, thereby mitigating security and financial risks associated with blind trust in AI agents.

The platform boasts several key features aimed at enhancing user experience and security. ‘Automation Guardrails‘ enable users to set specific limits, such as daily transaction caps, permissible asset types, and approval conditions, before any AI agent executes an action. Furthermore, Magic Newton is developing a ‘Verifiable Agent Marketplace,’ an open ecosystem where developers can publish specialized AI agents, and users can discover or even create ‘agent swarms‘—combinations of multiple AI agents for executing complex strategies. To ensure integrity, developers must stake $NEWT tokens to launch their agents on this marketplace.

Addressing the pervasive issue of fragmentation within the blockchain ecosystem, Magic Newton introduces a ‘Multichain zkPermission Rollup.’ This technology promises lower transaction costs and cross-chain compatibility, unifying liquidity and user experiences across various EVM-compatible blockchains. The platform also plans a ‘Scalability Upgrade‘ utilizing aggregated proof verification techniques to handle large-scale automation processes without burdening the network, alongside a move towards ‘Progressive Decentralization,’ where the protocol will eventually be governed by third-party validators.

Magic Newton’s ambition extends to providing ‘Web2-Level Convenience,’ aiming to make Web3 interactions as seamless and intuitive as traditional web services. For developers, the platform offers a ‘Developer-Centric Infrastructure,’ including an Ethereum-compatible environment, free gas subsidies, and chain abstraction tools that simplify building cross-chain applications.

The project has garnered significant financial backing, raising over $90 million USD from a roster of prominent investors, including PayPal Ventures, Digital Currency Group (DCG), Polygon Ventures, Balaji Srinivasan, and Placeholder VC. This substantial funding underscores the market’s confidence in Magic Newton’s vision and technological prowess.

Since its launch on May 7, 2025, Magic Newton has demonstrated remarkable growth. In less than two months, it has recorded 1.1 million registered users, facilitated 1 million agent transactions, and activated 400 thousand agents. The project also achieved the top spot for mindshare (search interest and discussion) in the pre-TGE (Token Generation Event) project category on Kaito for seven consecutive days, highlighting its rapidly expanding community and market interest.

The $NEWT token serves as the native utility and governance token of the Magic Newton ecosystem. With a total supply of 1 billion tokens, its functions include staking for agent validation and system security, establishing developer reputation, and enabling token holders to vote on the protocol’s future. The token distribution is transparent, with 60% allocated to community and ecosystem initiatives and 10% for airdrops and community rewards. Notably, team and contributor allocations are locked for 12 months, followed by a 36-month vesting period, emphasizing a long-term commitment to the project’s success.

A significant $NEWT airdrop campaign is currently underway, with a claim window from June 24 to July 24, 2025. Binance also conducted a HODLer Airdrop, distributing 12.5 million NEWT tokens to eligible BNB holders. The Magic Newton Foundation has been lauded for its commitment to transparency in token launches, setting new industry benchmarks for disclosure standards, a move praised by entities like Coinbase.

Looking ahead, Magic Newton’s long-term vision is to become the default coordination layer for verifiable agents across the crypto space. This includes supporting complex automation for Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), advanced DeFi protocols, AI-driven execution, and real-world financial applications, solidifying its position as a pivotal force in the evolution of decentralized finance.
