KB Kookmin Bank Concludes 7th Future Finance AI Challenge with Awards Ceremony

KB Kookmin Bank recently concluded its 7th Future Finance AI Challenge, an initiative aimed at fostering innovation in AI-driven financial services. The awards ceremony, which celebrated the achievements of talented university and graduate students, took place on September 11, 2025, at Ewha Womans University’s ECC Lee Sambong Hall. The competition, organized by KB Kookmin Bank, was proudly sponsored by the Financial Supervisory Service and Ewha Womans University.

The challenge invited individuals and teams of up to three university or graduate students to submit their innovative ideas and prototypes for financial services leveraging artificial intelligence technology. The competition spanned several months, with the preliminary round running from July 7 to August 14, 2025. Following a rigorous evaluation, the preliminary results were announced on September 1, 2025, leading to the final round where top contenders presented their solutions.

Generous awards were presented to the winning teams, reflecting KB Kookmin Bank’s commitment to nurturing future financial leaders. The Grand Prize winner received 10 million Korean Won. Two teams were honored with the Excellence Award, each receiving 6 million Korean Won, while two Merit Award winners were granted 3 million Korean Won each. In addition to the monetary prizes, winners of the Excellence Award and above received a significant special benefit: an exemption from the document screening and coding test stages when applying for KB Kookmin Bank’s new employee (L1) ICT division. This special recruitment advantage is valid once until 2026, providing a direct pathway for top talent into the bank’s workforce.
