TLDR: Hanwha Life Insurance outlined its AI vision and strategic roadmap at its internal ‘AI DAYS 2025’ event, focusing on integrating AI into core insurance operations, expanding customer-centric services beyond finance, and enhancing employee AI capabilities. The company highlighted new services like an AI Contact Center and an intelligent sales training system (AI STS), with plans for pilot testing of AI translation and subscription planning AI agents.
Hanwha Life Insurance recently hosted its internal event, ‘AI DAYS 2025: Shaping the Future with AI & LIFEPLUS,’ at its Seoul headquarters, where it presented a comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) vision and strategic roadmap aimed at driving innovation and growth. The event, held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, brought together co-CEOs Kwon Hyeuk-woong and Lee Kyung-keun, alongside numerous employees, to share the company’s AI achievements and outline future plans.
During the event, Hanwha Life articulated three key strategic priorities to advance its AI innovation. Firstly, the company aims to innovate AI services specifically centered on its core insurance operations. Secondly, it plans to create services that deliver value to customers extending beyond traditional financial offerings into everyday life. Lastly, Hanwha Life is committed to reinforcing its financial AI leadership by significantly enhancing its employees’ AI knowledge and application skills.
A significant focus was placed on the practical application of AI services within core insurance operations, demonstrating how these technologies are improving operational efficiency and elevating the customer experience. Notable examples include the AI Contact Center, which was launched earlier this year to provide real-time customer support and consultation, and AI STS, an intelligent sales training system designed to bolster agents’ sales capabilities.
Employees attending the ‘AI DAYS 2025’ event also participated in a voting process to select the services they were most enthusiastic about. The AI translation service, which is designed to facilitate seamless communication between international clients and agents, and the subscription planning AI agent, which offers data-driven, optimized insurance plans, were among the top selections. Both of these services are slated for pilot testing in the latter half of 2025 before their full implementation.
Co-CEO Kwon Hyeuk-woong emphasized the company’s broader ambition, stating, ‘Our goal is to move beyond traditional insurance and become a life-solution partner that accompanies customers throughout their lives.’
He further elaborated on the pivotal role of AI in this transformation: ‘AI will be the core enabler, providing the foundation to deliver customized financial and lifestyle solutions tailored to each customer’s unique needs.’
Hanwha Life has been proactively expanding its dedicated AI organizations, including the establishment of the AI Research Institute and the Hanwha AI Center, to spearhead financial innovation. The company also continues to invest in enhancing the AI capabilities of its workforce, notably by organizing specialized training sessions in collaboration with professors from Stanford University.
