TLDR: K-Bank announced on September 18, 2025, the designation of three innovative financial services leveraging generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology by the Financial Services Commission. These services aim to enhance customer experience, streamline counseling, and boost internal work productivity.
K-Bank has taken a significant leap in financial technology, announcing on September 18, 2025, that the Financial Services Commission has designated three of its services as innovative financial offerings, all powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI). This strategic move underscores K-Bank’s commitment to integrating advanced AI across its operations to deliver enhanced value and efficiency.
The three groundbreaking services are:
1. Generative AI App Translation Service: This innovative feature provides real-time, multi-language translation of key content within the K-Bank mobile application. Supporting languages such as English, Chinese, and Vietnamese, the service is designed to significantly improve access to financial services for foreign residents in Korea. It ensures natural translation that preserves context and meaning, accurately conveying financial jargon to enhance understanding and reliability. This service is expected to be a crucial driver in expanding K-Bank’s foreign customer base and developing new market segments.
2. Generative AI Counseling Assistant Service: An intelligent support system for counselors, this service analyzes customer information and past counseling history to provide real-time, customized guidance. By proactively predicting customer issues using generative AI, it offers comprehensive counseling reasons and solution guides. This empowers counselors to deliver professional-quality responses consistently, regardless of their skill level, and is anticipated to reduce average consultation times, allowing more customers to be served efficiently.
3. Generative AI Internal Work Productivity Improvement Service: This service is designed to accelerate and enhance the accuracy of various internal tasks, including document creation, information retrieval, and code generation. The AI-generated outputs can be seamlessly integrated with existing business systems, enabling immediate use in workflows. It contributes to stable banking operations by automating repetitive tasks and preventing errors. A key advantage is its ability to evolve and optimize for the work environment over time, incorporating employee feedback to refine its responses and improve work modes.

This designation of innovative financial services is a testament to K-Bank’s ambition to advance its use of generative AI and broaden its application across diverse areas. The bank had previously introduced a financial-specific private Large Language Model (LLM) in February 2025, which is already being utilized to innovate internal work processes. Looking ahead, K-Bank plans to further strengthen the AI capabilities of its employees and continuously identify new AI-driven services for its customers. An official from K-Bank emphasized, “By using Generative AI throughout the company, we will take AI competitiveness across the bank to the next level, including multilingual services, customer counseling, and internal business.”
