STAMFORD, Conn. – Information Services Group (ISG), a leading global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm, has announced the commencement of a significant research study focused on the profound impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the telecom and media sectors. The study specifically examines how service providers in these industries are integrating AI, automation, and flexible system architectures to meet the evolving demands of their clients.
ISG has distributed surveys to more than 200 service providers across the telecom, media, and entertainment industries. The research aims to provide comprehensive insights into the services and solutions enterprises are currently seeking and adopting. The findings will be compiled into a series of detailed ISG Provider Lens® reports, collectively titled ‘Telecom, Media and Entertainment Industry Services and Solutions,’ with their release anticipated in December 2025.
The study will evaluate providers across six key service quadrants. These include Strategy and Enablement Services, which assess providers offering strategic advisory, business strategies, and guidance in mergers and acquisitions and technology modernization. Other areas of focus encompass next-generation IT services for telecom and media enterprises, integrated platform solutions (such as OSS/BSS/CX), industrial edge connectivity, and supply chain management services. The reports will also delve into managed and next-gen IT services, connectivity hardware, media IT services, and content supply chain management solutions.
According to Iain Fisher, a director at ISG, ‘Telecom, media and entertainment enterprises are shifting toward personalization and immersive experiences, leveraging extensive data insights.’ This highlights the critical role of advanced analytics and service creation capabilities, including those enhanced by generative AI, in enabling enterprises to adapt and update their offerings.
