TLDR: ZTE is significantly advancing the mobile AI era with its latest network innovations. The company launched AgentGuard at MWC Shanghai 2025, a 5G-Advanced solution designed to ensure deterministic performance for AI services by intelligently identifying and managing digital agent tasks. Complementing this, ZTE previously introduced its comprehensive AIR DNA end-to-end network solution at MWC Barcelona 2025, which integrates AI across RAN, Core, and network operations to redefine mobile experiences and accelerate intelligent transformation.
ZTE Corporation is making substantial strides in empowering the mobile AI era with the introduction of its cutting-edge network solutions, AgentGuard and the broader AIR DNA framework. These innovations underscore ZTE’s commitment to integrating artificial intelligence deeply within communication networks to meet the evolving demands of AI-driven applications and services.
AgentGuard: Ensuring Deterministic Performance for AI Services
At MWC Shanghai 2025, held on June 27, 2025, ZTE unveiled its 5G-A AgentGuard solution, specifically engineered to provide a deterministic experience for new AI services. This solution is built upon mature 5G-Advanced commercial networks and leverages RAN native-AI capabilities to create a more reliable mobile network environment for the flourishing development of AI services. AgentGuard employs advanced intelligent identification technology to distinguish between tasks initiated by human users and those by digital agents, even accurately identifying the specific objectives of agents, such as ordering food or booking tickets. This granular awareness enables more precise resource allocation within the network.
To address the dynamic nature of AI Agent-generated tasks, AgentGuard’s policy has evolved from traditional coarse-grained business policies to a more refined, step-by-step approach. Furthermore, it establishes a closed-loop deterministic guarantee policy through a multi-level joint guarantee mechanism encompassing cell, cluster, and network levels, ensuring the smooth and accurate execution of digital agents. Demonstrations at MWC Shanghai 2025 showcased AgentGuard’s superior performance, significantly enhancing connection deterministic performance, boosting uplink data rates by over 20%, and reducing task completion latency by more than 20% in scenarios like digital assistant-based food ordering. This solution transforms traditional rule-based network services into intelligent, composite service guarantee mechanisms that respond dynamically to the needs of service agents.
AIR DNA: A Comprehensive AI-Driven End-to-End Network Solution
Earlier in the year, at MWC Barcelona 2025 in March, ZTE hosted the AIR DNA Future Network Launch Event, where it unveiled its new AI-driven end-to-end network solution—AIR DNA. This comprehensive solution positions AI as its core engine, aiming to reconstruct the genetic and architectural foundations of mobile networks and redefine the intelligent future of network infrastructure.
According to Zhang Wanchun, Senior Vice President of ZTE, the AIR Solution encompasses three key components: a full-stack AI foundation, the reconstruction of an end-to-end intelligent network, and value redefinition driven by the new network.
The full-stack AI foundation includes open infrastructure, a full-lifecycle training and inference platform, and a comprehensive series of Nebula large models tailored for various application scenarios. The intelligent network features a critical transition across its domains: from dedicated to heterogeneous AIR RAN, from cloud-native to AI-native AIR Core, and from assisted to autonomous intelligence in AIR Net. This end-to-end network upgrade is designed to continuously reshape mobile experiences, business ecosystems, and service paradigms, fully empowering the advancement of mobile AI and injecting strong momentum into global intelligent transformation.
Bidirectional Empowerment of AI and RAN
ZTE emphasizes its active role in promoting the deep integration of AI and RAN, exploring a bidirectional empowerment approach. Regarding ‘AI for RAN,’ ZTE has been reshaping wireless sites and network O&M systems using AI. Wireless sites now feature ‘All-in-one Radio,’ integrating communication, computing, and intelligence in the baseband, along with full digital management of infrastructure. The network O&M system, empowered by digital twins and large models, is driving networks toward higher autonomy, enhancing user experience and network efficiency while reducing operational costs.
