TLDR: Infosys has announced a significant partnership with Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) to implement a comprehensive digital transformation across its network of approximately 300 schools. The initiative involves deploying advanced enterprise platforms, including SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors, to modernize core systems, enhance operational efficiency, and establish a scalable infrastructure capable of supporting future generative AI applications.

Melbourne, Australia – July 16, 2025 – Infosys, a global leader in digital services and consulting, has officially announced a strategic collaboration with Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) to undertake an ambitious, network-wide digital transformation. This partnership aims to revolutionize the operational backbone of one of Australia’s largest education networks, encompassing around 300 schools.

The core of this initiative involves Infosys deploying a suite of cutting-edge enterprise platforms. Key among these are SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors, alongside other advanced solutions for identity and access management and master data management. The primary objective is to migrate MACS’ core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to the cloud, thereby streamlining operations, significantly enhancing efficiency, and improving the overall user experience for both staff and students.

The program is designed to deliver a unified digital workspace, offering personalized, role-based access to information and tools. This will foster enhanced collaboration through team-based communities and facilitate more streamlined communication across the extensive school network. Furthermore, it will improve master data management, ensuring accurate and real-time data access, which is crucial for informed decision-making.

A pivotal aspect of this transformation is the establishment of a scalable infrastructure specifically designed to support future generative AI applications, aligning with MACS’ long-term strategic vision. This forward-looking approach positions the collaboration as a new benchmark for large-scale, AI-driven ERP modernization within the education sector.

Dr. Edward Simons, Executive Director, Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, emphasized the importance of robust systems, stating, “Good education runs on more than just passion; it runs on systems that work effectively. Getting digital system foundations right is complex detailed work, and it requires deep, experienced partners like Infosys.”

Raja Shah, EVP and Industry Head, Global Markets, Infosys, highlighted the significance of the partnership for Infosys in Australia. “Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools is setting a bold vision for digital transformation in education, and we are proud to bring our expertise and managed services capabilities to help realize it. With SAP, we are also enabling a cloud-based, AI-capable platform that empowers educators and administrators alike,” Shah commented.

Vicki Russell, Chief Technology and Transformation Officer for Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, added that the upgrades will align systems across the schools and lay the groundwork for future developments. “With a future-focused platform in place, we will be well-positioned to foster innovation, enhance collaboration, and deliver quality education at scale,” she stated.
