TLDR: Infosys is taking a structured and comprehensive approach to the implementation and development of agentic AI, marked by the launch of its Agentic AI Foundry and a strong emphasis on responsible AI practices. This strategy aims to accelerate enterprise AI adoption, enhance operational efficiency, and address the inherent risks associated with advanced AI technologies.
Bengaluru, India – Infosys, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, has unveiled a structured and comprehensive strategy for the development and deployment of agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI). This initiative is designed to accelerate enterprise AI adoption, streamline operations, and ensure ethical implementation across various industries.
At the core of this strategy is the Infosys Agentic AI Foundry, launched on May 28, 2025, as a part of the Infosys Topazâ„¢ platform. This foundry provides a robust solution for enterprises to develop and deploy reliable, production-grade AI agents. It features a comprehensive collection of reusable components and a growing repository of pre-built horizontal and vertical agents, enabling organizations to efficiently discover, shortlist, develop, deploy, monitor, and measure their AI-driven initiatives. These agents are designed for seamless integration into both in-house and third-party platforms, facilitating accelerated implementation of AI solutions.
Infosys is also leading by example, integrating Agentic AI into its own operations to drive efficiency, innovation, and cost-effectiveness. A notable internal success includes the deployment of a multi-agent invoice automation solution within its finance team, which has reportedly improved productivity by over 50 percent, delivering significant cost savings and operational efficiency.
The company places a strong emphasis on responsible AI (RAI) practices. Balakrishna D.R., EVP – Global Services Head, AI and Industry Verticals at Infosys, highlighted the necessity of establishing a responsible foundation built on trust, risk mitigation, data governance, and sustainability for delivering value from enterprise AI. He stressed the importance of ethical, unbiased, safe, and transparent model development to realize the promise of agentic AI.
This focus on responsibility comes amidst growing industry awareness of AI-related risks. A report from August 14, 2025, indicated that 86% of enterprises anticipate heightened risks with Agentic AI, yet only 2% currently meet responsible AI gold standards. Jeff Kavanaugh, Head of Infosys Knowledge Institute, underscored this gap, stating that companies prioritizing robust, embedded RAI safeguards will not only mitigate risks but also unlock new revenue streams in the transformative agentic AI era.
Industry experts acknowledge Infosys’s proactive stance. Phil Fersht, CEO and Chief Analyst at HFS Research, commented on the blurring lines between human capabilities and AI-powered software, noting its profound impact on IT and business services. He added that Infosys’s approach to Agentic AI is crucial for enterprises facing increasing pressure to embed these capabilities into their employee and customer experiences.
The adoption of agentic AI is gaining significant traction, particularly in sectors like Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), retail, and manufacturing, which collectively account for approximately 70% of current agentic AI use cases. BFSI, in particular, stands out as a beacon for AI innovation, contributing 30% of use cases and proof-of-concepts. Dennis Gada, Executive Vice President and Global Head of BFS at Infosys, noted strong client interest in areas like payments modernization, asset servicing, and platform consolidation, driven by the strategic imperative to adopt AI for both immediate and long-term business benefits.
