Indicio Joins Nvidia Inception Program to Advance Agentic AI Identity Orchestration

TLDR: Indicio has joined the Nvidia Inception Program to further develop its ProvenAI digital identity infrastructure for agentic AI orchestration. This initiative aims to enable secure and compliant authentication and data sharing between users and AI agents using decentralized identifiers and Verifiable Credentials, addressing critical security and privacy concerns in AI agent deployment.

Indicio, a Seattle-based firm specializing in digital identity, has announced its participation in the Nvidia Inception Program, a free accelerator designed to support startups leveraging artificial intelligence. This strategic move, revealed on October 24, 2025, is set to bolster Indicio’s efforts in developing its digital identity infrastructure for agentic AI orchestration.

The core of this initiative revolves around Indicio’s ProvenAI technology, which was launched in July 2025. ProvenAI is designed to facilitate secure authentication and data sharing between human users and AI agents through the use of decentralized identifiers and Verifiable Credentials (VCs). This innovative approach allows AI agents to cryptographically verify the identity of entities they interact with, and vice versa, before any data exchange occurs. Furthermore, VCs ensure the authenticity and integrity of the data being shared, preventing unauthorized alterations.

A significant advantage of employing Verifiable Credentials in this context is the elimination of the need for real-time database lookups during authentication or authorization processes. Since VCs are digitally signed, the original issuer can be verified without direct contact, streamlining transactions and enhancing efficiency. This capability is crucial for automating workflows for both companies and individuals, paving the way for a collaborative environment where humans and bots operate in tandem while adhering to stringent data privacy regulations.

The collaboration directly addresses a major challenge in the deployment of AI agents: security and compliance with data privacy laws such as GDPR. As AI agents increasingly require access to sensitive personal data to perform their tasks effectively, ensuring explicit consent and selective disclosure becomes paramount. Indicio highlights this in a blog post, stating, “For AI agents to be useful, they must be able to access personal data – lots of it.” “For this to be compliant with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, a person must be able to consent to share their data. There’s just no way of getting around this.” ProvenAI’s use of Verifiable Credentials is positioned to meet these key GDPR requirements, offering a robust solution for managing consent and data disclosure in an automated fashion.
