TLDR: Vouched has launched its Know Your Agent (KYA) software, including the free AgentShield tool and the KnowThat.ai database, to help businesses detect and verify AI agents operating on their websites and applications. This initiative addresses the growing concern of unauthorized AI agent activity and aims to establish trust in agentic commerce through identity verification and biometrics.
Seattle-based identity verification provider, Vouched, announced on October 22, 2025, the market introduction of its Know Your Agent (KYA) software, designed to detect and verify the presence and actions of AI agents across various online platforms. This move comes as businesses increasingly encounter AI agents on their websites, banking platforms, and fintech applications, often without their explicit knowledge or a robust mechanism for verification.
The core offering includes AgentShield, a free KYA tool that can be integrated as a marketing pixel or a comprehensive server-side middleware, allowing businesses to implement the software within minutes. Additionally, Vouched has launched KnowThat.ai, an agent identification database, which serves as another pillar in its strategy to help businesses identify and trust AI agents.
Corey Breier, Vouched’s Growth Lead for Know Your Agent, highlighted the critical questions businesses must address for secure interactions with AI agents: identifying the agent, authenticating the human it represents, understanding the scope of human authorization, and confirming when the agent is authorized to execute instructions.
Breier emphasized the dual nature of AI agents, noting that while they offer exciting possibilities for consumers – such as booking flights or making purchases with delegated credentials – they pose significant risks for vendors. He stated, ‘It’s scary for the vendors, because how do they know that that agent was actually told by you to do that thing? How do they know that that agent has your credit card with your permission? There are several layers of confirmation that you need to have that resembles KYC.’ This underscores the necessity for robust verification, where biometrics play a crucial role in confirming the identity of the human behind the AI agent’s actions.

The company’s focus on agent verification is further supported by a recent $17 million funding round announced in September, indicating a significant investment in tackling this emerging challenge in the digital identity landscape. As AI agents become more autonomous and are entrusted with sensitive tasks, Vouched’s KYA suite aims to close critical identity gaps and build a foundation of trust in the evolving ecosystem of AI software agents.
