New Delhi, October 18, 2025 – The IndiaAI Mission, in a significant collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), has announced a global call for abstracts to spotlight impactful and scalable applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in health systems. This joint initiative specifically targets researchers, innovators, and institutions from across the Global South, inviting them to submit successful and implementable AI health use cases.
The primary objective of this global call is to gather diverse examples of AI solutions that are not only effective but also scalable, contributing to the digital transformation of healthcare. Selected entries will be invited to contribute a chapter to the ‘Casebook on AI Health Use Cases Across the Global South’. This casebook is slated for an official launch at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to take place in New Delhi in February.
The forthcoming casebook is envisioned as a crucial resource, providing a comprehensive reference for policymakers, innovators, and researchers. Its aim is to facilitate the replication and scaling of successfully implemented AI solutions across various health systems in the Global South. By documenting real-world experiences and lessons learned, the initiative seeks to strengthen the responsible adoption of AI and accelerate digital transformation in healthcare.

Innovators are encouraged to submit abstracts, with a maximum word count of 250 words, by the deadline of October 31. This initiative underscores India’s commitment to fostering safe and trusted AI development, complementing ongoing efforts in the country. Earlier, the government had announced the selection of five projects under the ‘Safe and Trusted AI’ pillar of the IndiaAI program. These projects are focused on critical areas such as real-time deepfake detection, strengthening forensic analysis, addressing bias in AI models, and building robust evaluation tools for generative AI, ensuring that AI systems deployed in India are reliable, secure, and inclusive.
