Uttarakhand Hosts AI Impact Summit 2025 to Foster Responsible Technological Advancement

The summit is a collaborative effort, jointly organized by the Government of Uttarakhand, the India AI Mission, and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Its primary objective is to strategically position Uttarakhand as a pivotal player in the nation’s AI-driven digital transformation. Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Jitin Prasada, inaugurated the summit. In his address, he underscored the critical importance of striking a balance between technological innovation and ethical responsibility in the deployment and adoption of AI.

A key highlight of the summit is the showcase of several AI-driven startups, supported by institutions like IIM Kashipur and STPI Dehradun. These startups are presenting innovative solutions specifically designed to address local challenges across various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, environmental monitoring, and education. The presentations demonstrate practical AI applications tailored to the state’s unique geographic and socio-economic needs, illustrating how technology can enhance public service delivery, improve access, and stimulate entrepreneurship within the hill state.
