Hupside Secures Pre-Seed Funding to Drive Human-Centered AI Integration with ‘Original Intelligence’ Platform

TLDR: Hupside has successfully raised $1.7 million in pre-seed funding to champion the adoption of human-centered AI in professional environments. The company is set to launch “Hupchecker,” an innovative assessment tool designed to quantify “Original Intelligence” (OIQ). This platform aims to assist organizations in identifying and developing individuals best suited to collaborate effectively with generative AI technologies.

Hupside, a company dedicated to measuring and elevating human originality in an AI-driven world, has announced a significant step forward in its mission, securing $1.7 million in pre-seed funding. This capital injection is earmarked to accelerate the adoption of human-centered artificial intelligence within the workplace, addressing a critical challenge faced by many organizations: the struggle to achieve meaningful financial returns from their substantial investments in generative AI.

The core of Hupside’s strategy revolves around its proprietary SaaS assessment tool, “Hupchecker.” This innovative platform is designed to measure “Original Intelligence Quotient” (OIQ), providing a quantifiable metric for an individual’s capacity to think beyond conventional and AI-generated ideas. The company believes that while generative AI offers powerful efficiencies, it can also lead to homogenized outputs, thereby eroding differentiation and competitive advantage.

Jonathan Aberman, co-founder and CEO of Hupside, highlighted the current shortcomings in AI transformation efforts. “AI transformation to this point has been driven by technology adoption,” Aberman stated. “We weren’t surprised by recent surveys that show most efforts are not generating demonstrable returns on investments. This is because AI transformation is not just about technology, but about targeting and training the people who can use it well. This requires a new metric to identify these people rapidly.”

Hupchecker aims to be that new metric. By mapping employee responses into an “idea space” and categorizing them into archetypes, the tool empowers organizations to build AI-ready teams. This allows for customized training programs and effective tracking of transformation progress, ensuring that human originality is integrated into AI strategies for lasting value.

Adam Green, co-founder and Chief Scientist of Hupside, emphasized the symbiotic relationship between human originality and AI. “AI is not a substitute for originality; it is a partner to it,” Green explained. “The research behind our company shows that organizations combining AI efficiency with human originality will be the ones that thrive.”

The public launch of Hupchecker is anticipated in mid-September, with a private beta currently available. Hupside’s approach underscores a shift in focus from mere technological adoption to a more strategic integration of human cognitive strengths with advanced AI capabilities, aiming to unlock true innovation and sustainable competitive advantage in the evolving digital landscape.
