(TSE:6501) today announced a definitive agreement to acquire synvert, a prominent German data and artificial intelligence (AI) services firm, from Maxburg, a leading private equity fund. The acquisition will be executed through Hitachi’s U.S. subsidiary, GlobalLogic Inc., and is a pivotal step in accelerating Hitachi’s advancements in Agentic AI and Physical AI, while driving the global expansion of its HMAX business.
synvert, headquartered in Germany, brings to Hitachi a robust team of over 550 highly skilled specialists. The firm boasts extensive expertise in AI-driven business design, data governance, data platform engineering, and advanced analytics, including deep knowledge of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures. With a client base exceeding 200, synvert has established a strong presence across Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and the Middle East.
This strategic integration is designed to significantly enhance Hitachi’s HMAX solution suite, which is dedicated to advancing operational autonomy and fostering business model innovation in the evolving AI era. The acquisition will also complement GlobalLogic’s existing deep capabilities in AI and digital engineering, creating a more comprehensive end-to-end strength across the enterprise data value chain.
Hitachi’s Digital Systems & Services sector, which spearheads the company’s AI strategy under Lumada 3.0, is at the forefront of evolving AI technologies.
