Palo Alto, California – Hippocratic AI, a pioneering force in safety-focused generative AI agents for healthcare, has announced its selection to join the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Health Tech Ecosystem and Digital Transformation Initiative. This collaboration signifies a major step towards integrating advanced AI solutions into the United States healthcare system, with a focus on improving patient access and care quality.
CMS has identified ‘Conversational AI Assistants’ as a critical driver for the digital transformation of U.S. healthcare. Hippocratic AI’s participation in this initiative underscores its commitment to working alongside CMS and other healthcare organizations to realize this transformative vision. The company’s involvement was solidified through pledges made in Washington, D.C., during meetings with CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and other administration officials, followed by a reception at the White House attended by Hippocratic AI Co-Founder and CEO Munjal Shah.
This development aligns with the recently announced AI Action Plan, which emphasizes the urgent national priority of accelerating safe and scalable AI infrastructure. Hippocratic AI’s role specifically falls under the ‘Conversational AI Assistants’ pledge within the Health Tech Ecosystem. The company is already a market leader in this category, with its generative AI healthcare agents having completed over 3.35 million patient calls to date, achieving an impressive average patient satisfaction rating of 8.95 out of 10.
As part of the pledge, Hippocratic AI commits to building conversational AI assistants that can connect to CMS Aligned Networks or personal health record applications. With patient consent, these tools will securely access relevant health information to deliver personalized and helpful support. A key aspect of this commitment is the clear distinction between educational content and clinical guidance, ensuring that tools assist patients directly when appropriate and guide them to professional healthcare when needed.
“Hippocratic AI’s vision for healthcare abundance is driven by both industry transformation and broad collaboration,” stated Munjal Shah, Co-Founder and CEO of Hippocratic AI. “We commend CMS on its effort to bring together the Health Tech Ecosystem and will actively participate in its planning and execution, as it is well aligned with our own thinking as to how to transform healthcare.”
