TLDR: Grammarly, the popular writing assistant, has announced a significant rebranding of its parent company to ‘Superhuman,’ following its acquisitions of Superhuman Mail and Coda. This strategic move positions the company as an AI-native productivity platform, introducing ‘Superhuman Go,’ an advanced AI assistant designed to operate across various applications and browser tabs, offering context-aware and prompt-free assistance for a wide range of tasks.
In a bold move reflecting its evolution into a comprehensive AI-native productivity platform, Grammarly has officially rebranded its parent company as ‘Superhuman.’ This transformation follows the earlier acquisitions of the highbrow email client Superhuman Mail in July and the all-in-one workspace Coda in December 2024. The company aims to unify its offerings under a single, powerful brand, signaling a shift beyond just grammar and writing assistance.
The centerpiece of this rebranding is the introduction of ‘Superhuman Go,’ a new AI assistant designed to provide a ‘Superhuman’ experience across various applications and browser tabs. Built on the existing Grammarly extension, Superhuman Go is described as a ‘whole team of agents’ capable of brainstorming ideas, fetching information, sending emails, scheduling meetings, and logging tickets without requiring explicit prompts from the user. It integrates seamlessly with platforms like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Jira, leveraging connected data sources for context-aware support.
Shishir Mehrotra, CEO of Superhuman, articulated the company’s vision, stating, “Today AI feels like something we have to learn to manage or tame. We have to remember to use it and we have to think hard about what we ask it. We nudge it through a series of prompts and then paste the output wherever we’re working. It’s an astounding power, to be sure, but it’s a power that feels outside of us. By leveraging the infrastructure we’ve built to deliver Grammarly, we can bring that outside power inside. You don’t have to pause, prompt, paste, or even think about it.” This statement underscores the company’s ambition to make AI assistance more intuitive and integrated into daily workflows.
The Superhuman ecosystem now bundles Grammarly’s trusted writing partner, Coda’s all-in-one workspace, AI-native Superhuman Mail, and the new Superhuman Go. Superhuman Mail is designed to organize inboxes and generate AI-powered replies that mimic the user’s style, while Coda compiles data from various applications to facilitate information retrieval and action. Future updates are expected to enable Coda to act on this data, for instance, by converting talking points into formatted plans.

Superhuman Go is currently available for free during early access through Grammarly for Chrome and Grammarly for Edge extensions, with plans for Mac and Windows versions to follow. The company also offers paid packages to unlock deeper features. The Pro plan is priced at $12 per month when billed annually, offering advanced grammar and tone checking for over 20 languages. The Business plan, at $33 per month annually, includes access to Superhuman Mail. With over 30 million people using Grammarly and tens of thousands of teams on paid plans, Superhuman aims to leverage this substantial user base for its expanded platform play. This strategic pivot comes amidst intense competition from major tech players like OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft, all vying to dominate the AI-powered productivity tools market.
