Google’s No-Code AI App Builder Opal Expands Global Reach to Over 160 Countries

TLDR: Google has significantly expanded the availability of its no-code AI application builder, Opal, from 15 to over 160 countries. Announced on November 6, 2025, this move aims to democratize AI development, allowing users to create mini-applications for workflow automation, content generation, and rapid prototyping without writing any code. Opal integrates with Google’s AI models like Gemini and positions Google to compete directly with established workflow automation and AI creation platforms.

Google announced a major global expansion of its no-code artificial intelligence (AI) application builder, Opal, on November 6, 2025. The platform, which initially launched earlier in 2025 with limited geographic availability in just 15 countries, is now accessible to users in over 160 countries worldwide. This strategic expansion, as reported by PPC Land, signifies Google’s intensified push into the burgeoning market of AI-driven workflow automation and content creation.

Opal empowers users to develop mini-applications through natural language interfaces, eliminating the need for traditional coding skills. The platform focuses on three primary categories of applications. Firstly, it facilitates the automation of complex, multi-step workflows, such as systems that automatically extract data from web sources, analyze findings, and save results directly into Google Sheets. Users have also leveraged Opal to process data and generate custom reports without manual data manipulation.

Secondly, content creation represents a significant use case. Marketers and creators are utilizing Opal to produce custom content at scale. Examples include marketing asset generators that can take a single product concept and automatically generate optimized blog posts, social media captions, and video advertisement scripts. Dynamic visual tools can also produce composite media by overlaying custom text on generated images for personalized campaigns.

Lastly, Opal supports rapid prototyping for minimum viable products (MVPs), enabling entrepreneurs and builders to quickly validate new ideas. Megan Li, Senior Product Manager at Google Labs, emphasized this aspect, stating, “Opal is lowering the barrier for entrepreneurs and builders looking to quickly validate new ideas or build simple mini-apps to share with others.”

Opal operates within Google’s cloud infrastructure and is accessible globally through opal.google. It integrates seamlessly with Google’s advanced AI models, including Gemini, and various Google services such as Google Sheets, Google Cloud, Vertex AI, and BigQuery. This broad integration aims to extend Google’s AI ecosystem beyond traditional developers, turning everyday users into AI creators.

The expansion positions Google in direct competition with established workflow automation platforms like n8n, which recently announced Series C funding in October 2025, and other AI creation tools such as Microsoft Power Apps and OpenAI’s custom GPTs. The move aligns with Google’s broader 2025 strategy to enhance AI agent capabilities across its product portfolio, reflecting a wider industry trend where low-code and no-code platforms are reshaping software and AI application development. The company’s success in aligning Opal with Workspace and Vertex AI could significantly strengthen enterprise adoption and foster a new tier of AI-literate professionals.
