TLDR: Gogolook, a leading TrustTech company, has released the world’s first Global Anti-Scam Impact Report, highlighting the escalating threat of scams, particularly with the rise of generative AI. The report integrates scam prevention efforts with ESG and SDG frameworks, revealing that global scam losses equate to 1% of GDP (USD 100 billion) annually. It showcases over 35 cross-border case studies and emphasizes the critical role of advanced AI technology and collaborative efforts in combating this global menace.
TAIPEI – Gogolook (TWSE: 6902), a prominent TrustTech company, announced the release of its groundbreaking Global Anti-Scam Impact Report on August 21, 2025. This pioneering report is the first of its kind globally, aiming to provide comprehensive insights into the fight against scams, which have become a significant threat amplified by the rise of generative AI and increasingly specialized transnational criminal groups.
The report strategically combines scam prevention initiatives with the latest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) trends. It features over 35 cross-border and cross-industry case studies, offering valuable intelligence for governments, businesses, investors, and non-profits to proactively address the evolving global anti-scam landscape.
According to data from the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), a staggering half of the global population experiences at least one scam attempt weekly, resulting in financial losses equivalent to 1% of the global GDP, or approximately USD 100 billion. The severity of this issue is further underscored by the UK government’s report that nearly 20% of scam victims develop depression, leading the nation to officially elevate scam to a national security threat in 2023.
Scam operations have far-reaching implications beyond direct financial loss. From an ESG perspective, they consume vast environmental resources through server farms, robocalls, mass SMS phishing, and crypto-based money laundering. Socially, companies are urged to foster digital resilience and media literacy through education and anti-scam tools. In terms of governance, organizations must implement robust cybersecurity frameworks and anti-scam workflows to mitigate legal and reputational risks.
Furthermore, scam prevention aligns closely with several of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
Jackie Cheng, Co-founder and Chairman of Gogolook, emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “Scam prevention is not a drill, it’s a real fight.” He highlighted Gogolook’s decade-long commitment to building advanced anti-scam technologies and a strong business foundation that has earned the trust of users, enterprises, and governments. Cheng added that the report “reaffirms Gogolook’s core values within the ESG framework, highlights real-world applications of our solutions across different countries, and showcases innovative approaches to scam education.” He concluded, “Scams may never completely disappear, it’s part of human nature. But Gogolook will continue to drive impact globally and show the world what Taiwan’s AI and software technologies can achieve.”
Jorij Abraham, Managing Director of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), underscored the necessity of collaboration: “Fighting scam requires collaboration and support from all sides. We rely on companies to contribute funding, research, and technology to bring anti-scam solutions to life.” He praised Gogolook as “a prime example of how AI technology can be harnessed to prevent scams effectively.”
Chia-Kai Hou, Vice President of Social Impact and Sustainable Innovation Services at KPMG, noted the distinction of an impact report: “While traditional ESG reports focus on minimizing harm to the environment and society, impact reports go a step further by highlighting how an organization actively creates positive change.” He lauded Gogolook’s report as “a strong example of this,” raising awareness about the value of scam prevention technologies and Taiwan’s growing role in the global fight.
