TLDR: Go There Travel has launched ‘ASTRA’ (Assistant Travel Advisor), a new AI search chatbot designed to empower travel agents with a personalized sales-conversion tool. Agents are invited to test the platform, which combines ChatGPT 4’s data capabilities with travel consultant expertise, aiming to enhance sales and adapt to evolving consumer holiday planning behaviors.
Go There Travel has officially launched ‘ASTRA,’ an innovative AI Search Chatbot, extending an invitation to travel agents to participate in its testing phase. Dubbed ‘Assistant Travel Advisor,’ ASTRA is designed to provide agents with a personalized AI search chatbot that can be extensively customized to suit individual agent needs.
Ian Campness, the founder of Go There Travel, emphasized ASTRA’s core purpose, stating, “It’s a customized sales-conversion tool and launch-ready to help agents convert more sales, especially for independent and homeworking travel consultants.” He further highlighted its integration capabilities, noting, “The link to their own AI Search chatbot can be incorporated into their website and in any sales emails or social media posts.”
ASTRA’s unique selling propositions include its ability to unlock the data power of a ChatGPT 4 search while integrating the invaluable experience and destination knowledge of a seasoned travel consultant. A key feature is its instant email notification to the agent with full search details, enabling them to respond to better-qualified leads. The application also enriches the holiday planning process with crucial influencing features such as videos, location maps, and images, assisting customers in visualizing and deciding on suggested touring itineraries, resorts, cities, or experiences.
Campness shared positive feedback from early trials: “Comments from agents testing our prototype encouraged us that agents are recognizing the impact of AI and how it is rapidly changing consumers buying behaviour in searching and planning their next holiday.” He added, “Agents are looking for a tech solution to meet this shift in holiday planning. Exactly what our AI search chatbot delivers.”
Addressing the broader industry landscape, particularly the emergence of tools like OpenAI’s ‘Agent’ which might be perceived as a threat by some, Campness views ASTRA as a timely opportunity. He believes it allows agents to highlight “the missing link – the all-important human touch and input that makes the combination such a powerful proposition.”
