TLDR: The Good Estate Agent has introduced ‘Lucy,’ an advanced AI assistant built with Google’s Gemini technology. Designed to streamline real estate operations, Lucy handles tasks from call management and valuation bookings to maintenance issues, aiming to significantly boost agent productivity and efficiency. This innovation, spearheaded by founder Rob Bryer, marks a strategic shift towards automation in the property sector, with plans to extend access to other industry professionals.
The Good Estate Agent has officially launched ‘Lucy,’ a groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI) assistant poised to transform the operational landscape for self-employed agents and other brands within the real estate industry. Powered by Google’s cutting-edge Gemini technology, Lucy is engineered to manage a comprehensive array of administrative and client-facing tasks, including handling incoming calls, scheduling property valuations, connecting customers with the appropriate agent network, and overseeing maintenance issues.
This significant development is the brainchild of Rob Bryer, founder of The Good Estate Agent, who now identifies more as a software developer than a traditional estate agent. Bryer custom-built Lucy to seamlessly integrate with the company’s proprietary property management system, which underpins its expanding network of agents. Notably, access to these custom-built tools will also be extended to agents outside The Good Estate Agent brand.
Bryer emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to automation, stating, “Automation has always been at the heart of what we do. We are now releasing the next wave of evolutionary systems. Lucy represents a significant leap forward, handling the day-to-day administrative burdens and allowing our agents to focus on what they do best: building relationships and selling properties.”
The introduction of Lucy is not merely an isolated product launch but rather the initial phase of a more expansive and ambitious strategy. Bryer highlighted the company’s pioneering spirit, recalling, “We were the first to launch the self-employed agency model back in 2010 and now we are about to launch the next revolution in estate agency.” He further articulated his vision for broader industry impact: “If I can make the industry more efficient, it will benefit all in the property chain, so I am going to start sharing the tools I have created with others in the industry.”
