TLDR: Minute Media, a leading global sports and technology content company, has acquired VideoVerse, an AI-powered video solutions provider known for its Magnifi platform. The acquisition, announced on September 9, 2025, aims to integrate VideoVerse’s advanced AI capabilities for real-time video highlight generation and content automation into Minute Media’s ecosystem, enhancing its content production and distribution in the rapidly growing sports media landscape. Moneta Ventures, a key investor in VideoVerse, will roll over equity into Minute Media.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – September 9, 2025 – Minute Media, a global leader in technology and sports content, has officially announced the acquisition of VideoVerse, an AI-powered video solutions provider. The strategic move, which saw a definitive agreement reached on August 26, 2025, is set to significantly bolster Minute Media’s capabilities in AI-driven content production and distribution within the rapidly expanding sports content ecosystem.

VideoVerse, founded in 2016 and based in Mumbai, is renowned for its AI-driven SaaS technology platform, Magnifi. This innovative platform leverages advanced artificial intelligence, including computer vision, natural language processing, machine learning, and generative AI tools, to automatically detect key moments in live or recorded sports events. Magnifi then creates real-time highlights, generates multilingual subtitles, automates thumbnail and metadata creation, and streamlines end-to-end video content workflows for content owners and rights holders. Its impressive client roster includes major entities like the Indian Premier League, Women’s Premier League cricket, FIFA+, Indian Super League, Nippon TV, and Cubber TV.

Asaf Peled, Founder and CEO of Minute Media, expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “We are delighted to have acquired VideoVerse and are excited about the synergies it brings to our combined business. The acquisition allows us to incorporate AI creation capabilities into our platform, while giving VideoVerse the distribution and monetization solutions it needs to better serve customers around the world.” Minute Media, known for publishing prominent sports and culture brands such as Sports Illustrated, The Players’ Tribune, and 90min, aims to deploy a fully integrated creation, distribution, and monetization solution post-acquisition.

Moneta Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund that was VideoVerse’s first U.S. investor and its largest equity holder, played a crucial role in the company’s growth. Moneta led VideoVerse’s $5 million Seed round in 2021 and helped incorporate the company into the U.S. market. As part of the transaction, Moneta Ventures will roll over a portion of its equity into Minute Media, signaling continued confidence in the combined entity. Vinayak Shrivastav, CEO of VideoVerse, acknowledged Moneta’s support, saying, “The Moneta team has been one of our greatest supporters over the years. There have been so many ups and downs along the way and they have always been a constant, supportive, and reassuring presence.”

Prateek Sharma, Chief Strategy Officer at VideoVerse, commented on the strategic alignment: “We explored interest from several top-tier players in the global sports and media space, but joining forces with Minute Media felt like a natural alignment. It was a strategic choice; carefully considered after evaluating the market landscape and identifying the strengths we each bring to the table.”
